If Hill's jumper has improved that much then perhaps he should play behind Pau instead of washed up Jamison. Sacre showed some nice moves around the basket as well so maybe we can groom him a bit earlier to be the backup 5. His defense seemed solid as well.

finally watched the 1st half only, my thoughts:

1. MWP is looking great!
2. kobe look's like he picked up a few things from nash already, but his defense has dropped off
3. princeton looks fantastic, didn't see it often, but the starters ran it well
4. pau looks great, but david lee was defeding him
5. nash is going to look like rocket fuel out there, kobe and MWP are gonna be wide open all game
6. dwight overdoes it on the hipster fashion
7. sacre looks serviceable with the starters
8. jamison took walton's 4   , and looks semi-capable of playing the 3, bit passive though
9. hill needs to continue to shoot that outside jumper
10. our transition D looks well improved
11. ebanks' jumper looks crappy, but he's got good energy
12. blake's jumper looks offfffff

Sorry but Sacre shouldn't even make the team and if he does it should be over DJO because we already have 3 guys that can play the C. Also he had 4TOs in limited time last night, offered little on the glass, and if it wasn't for Nash setting him perfect, there'd be nothing to talk about.

Also Jamison will be playing the most minutes off the bench even if one feels he's washed up. Artest kept playing last year even when Barnes and Ebanks were much better than him early in the season.

Hill was always going to be the first big man off the bench for Gasol or Howard due to how well it worked last postseason(and his big contract), it was the fans that assumed Jamison was going to play the 4. We don't need a true "backup center" when we have Pau Gasol who's played that role his entire Laker career. Sacre would make a great 3rd string center however and I hope he makes the final roster.

Also anyone trying to gauge our bench play last night has to realize that team will look much different with Howard and Gasol taking turns manning the 5 instead of Sacre and Mogi. Judging Jamison, Hill, Ebanks and Meeks off last night(even if 2 of them did well) won't give you a accurate representation of what they will play like with our full team.

I think Jamison will see most of his time at SF ....with Gasol and Howard healthy,in the frontcourt there will be only about 25 minutes left to spare for the bench.Way to little for both Antawn and Hill

Hill will get probably 20 of those minutes, and Jamison around 5,with the backup SF role in his pocket also

Ebanks and Meeks will probably fight for that backup SG spot and Blake and Duhon for the backup PG spot

We'll then probably run a 9 man rotation during the season(who'll get most of the minutes, with probably 1 or 2 guys getting some burn too during garbage time or foul trouble/injuries)

I eventually envision those 9 guys to be Nash,Kobe,MWP,Pau,Howard starters and Blake,Meeks,Jamison,Hill as reserves who'll play enough (at least 15 mpg each except for maybe Meeks...but if Brown starts limiting Kobe's minutes or goes small sometimes with PG/Meeks/Kobe ,he'll probably crack 15 mpg too)

Ebanks,Clark and Duhon will serve as injury insurance and may take other players' spots if they don't pan out(I'm talking about Meeks and Blake)..they may play during garbage time and depending on some matchups ,but not much

Morris,Sacre and one of Goudelock/DJO or CDR will round up the roster and be the benchwarmers

u can never have enough big man depth

you need a 5th and 6th big, especially when you have those games where the game is already over, or someone's been ejected or heaven forbid, a long term injury

Does anyone else have a opinion on this? They're charging all this money and their **** telecast is identical to kcal9s. bunch of bs. i hate twc

blake sucks and as expected duhon doesn't have the skills to be a professional nba player right now. He wouldn't play for my team in the **** league in my country. Seriously.

We need a back up pg who can at least force the other teams to keep one man on them off the ball.

the starters looked great.

he sucks so hard at the 3... go ask any cavs fan. he's miserable there, especially when he has to guard a competent sf, he simply can't stay in front of his man.

either he gets minutes at back up PF as a stretch out 4 or he wont get any by the end of the season... he can't plat SF anymore. (unless he's guarding and being guarded by a crap SF)
