Steve Nash roll and responsibilities in the new offense

It's amazing how many people are underestimating how difficult of an adjustment it's going to be for Nash, Bryant, Gasol and Howard top play together. On certain nights, those guys are going to have to learn to become role players.

That's more of an ego adjustment. I don't think anyone here underestimates that. Pau had already deferred to Drew so he's comfortable with his new role already. Nash is an unselfish player so his adjustment will be like Worthy said, more off the ball & shooting more because he is so unselfish. Kobe understands this is still his team, but for how long? So can he check his ego on some nights?

Talent wise, they won't have a problem. The obstacles will be egos & learning a new offense.

The biggest hurdle I think they will have to overcome is finding that offensive balance to make this offense run like a well oiled machine. Having a player like Nash helps tremendously. The basketball IQ between Nash, Kobe and Gasol is ridiculous. Nash has already voiced his willingness to change his game a little, I think the fact that Nash is here shows that Kobe is willing to change his game, Gasol is passive by nature and I think D12 will take any roll he is given right now. Like Kobe said the pieces fit, no two players are alike. The thing thats got me kind of worried is Gasol. Will he be aggressive, will he remain aggressive. Rotations this year will be vital. Kobe needs to be on the Nash minute program 30-32 minutes per game. Let D12 go out there for 40 minutes and dominate the game. He's a young buck so he can do it.

Over or under on 60 games for these guys to gel?

Gasol will do his thing because Howard is there. Just like when Drew was there he was always a stud. I think they will gel in under 60 & the win total will be over 60

Yeah, this isn't a bunch of kids figuring out the game and then figuring out how to make it work with each other. I think they'll have it sorted sooner than later too.

And even though Nash has defied the laws of aging, it's not like he's got his future ahead of him in the league, so I imagine he'll probably sacrifice more than anyone to make it work.
