Boris could do anything on the court if he really put his mind to it.

Yeah, lack of assertiveness kept Boris from being a perineal allstar. He should have been a dominant four.

Re: The Bismack Biyombo Thread
I was checking out an interview Biz did this summer during summer league. Once again he said something that you never hear young players say these days. When asked would he like to come back to Vegas in a couple years after he turned 21 he said, " Not really there are to many distractions here." Wow, this from a nineteen year old.

I don't have anything new to report, but I'm really excited to see Biz this season. I'm betting he'll have a good to post move by the time the seasons out. You just don't see smart guys who work hard not being successful.
And even if he doesn't it's nice to know that even when we're losing by 30 that he'll still be fighting.

I'm older than Biyombo but he's a lot more mature than me, and I'm not ashamed to admit that. I just love reading about his life.

Re: The Bismack Biyombo Thread
In light of his spasmodic PT time in the 1st preseason game, him being the last big off the bench and Bonnell's report that he was outpreformed during training camp, I thought I would move this GT conversation here:
Dont get me wrong, I like Biz as much as the next Bobcat fan. I love his attitude and his approach - but I think he is farrrrrrrrrr from untouchable and dont think for a second we could land a trade like the one above for him.
And if we could we would be NUTS not to pull the trigger on it.
Maybe I'm just not 100% sold on a suspect rebounding defensive specialist PF?
If he was a more traditional sized C then I might be more opened minded, but I'm worried about his limitations in today's NBA.
How many strictly defensive specialist PF's start in today's NBA? How many of them are super stars - or even just stars?
Ibaka? He might be the only one - and he isn't a super star. Might not even be a star. He's a role player on a team with two super stars (Durant and Westbrook) and one star (Harden).

Only if it's Orlando's 1st round picks for the next 2 years.

Re: The Bismack Biyombo Thread
Im assuming that when you say you wouldn't take Orlandos first rounder the next two years for Biyombo you're joking. Great guy, great athlete. Bad rebounder, bad defender unless going against someone with no post moves which enables Biyombo to match strength vs strength, bad offensively, good shot blocker. Yeah hes a fan favorite, but je is faaaaaaaaaar from untouchable.

Re: The Bismack Biyombo Thread
this year biz will play the role he should have played last year, which is 3rd or 4th big man off the bench, getting anywhere from 10 to 25 minutes a night depending on matchups. he needs another year to learn w/out the pressure of starter minutes.

Re: The Bismack Biyombo Thread
Can't blame Bobcats fans for feeling uneasy about Biyombo, although whoever drafted him should have known he was going to be a project big for the next couple of years.
