Ross took some ill advised shots, but he looked really good spotting up in catch and shoot situations. I think he'll benefit a lot from sets tightening up in the regular season.

He has some potential attacking off the dribble, his first step allows him to get around defenders and his handle is capable enough, he just needs to be more aggressive attacking the lane. Hopefully the coaching staff can get after him about this.

Knight,monroe,Drummond, all steals.

Sometimes I forgot that our young core was all taken in the latter half of the draft(except Monroe, by 1 spot). I know that that was one preaseason game, but I already feel that Drummmond will be better than DeAndre defensively, just because he is more diciplined...DeAndre jumps at everything.

He didn't look like he has any ball handling skills, and looked lost on defense. He looked like a one trick pony

I disagree, he has nice ballhandling skills and is on point on defense. However if you just watched him from the Pistons game well I can't say I blame you for thinking that, he didn't play up to par as his last game.

Aside from two big men catching oops, not sure what the similarity is with those two videos. Jordan jumped a good deal higher, from a lot further away, and on someone.

Drummond played better than I thought he would, although the Pistons to their credit maximized his strengths, minimized weaknesses. So he got plenty of stuffs, and hardly took shots. He's already build like a truck, and very athletic. I'm happy for his good start.

Val's stat line was sparse but anyone watching the game knows his impact was on the whole positive, particularly on D. Like someone said earlier, he's solid in fundamentals, and I'm looking forward to seeing how he progresses.

Austin Rivers just went 13 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 0 turnovers in three quarters, and that's not decent?

I would also argue that many of your decents were far more than decent.

The thing I was impressed most about with Val is his size. Everyone knows Drummond already has that NBA body, but that was definitely the biggest concern with Jonas coming over. It's clear immediately when you see him on the court that he's filled out really well already. That 257 number looks accurate and his length will be extremely disruptive.

Well next to Drummond he looked smaller (who doesn't?), but Val has bulked up and can still fill out his frame. I'm happy that he doesn't shy away from using his body. Drummond had a sexier game last night, but that takes nothing away from Val's promise.

I do think people will start guarding him for the lobs and play off him unless he's right under the basket like they do Jordan, which will open him up if he rolls to the basket when his guard helps on drives.

Drummonds raw offensively and i think we saw that yesterday in that one post moved he attempted that turned into a fadeaway. He actually can consistently make that, he just doesn't know how to utilize it or get open. One positive is that he's not shy in attempting it. His form isn't that bad either, meaning that its fixable. If you watched the game yesterday, Raps had to know where he was at all times, as every time a shot went up he seemed to get his hands on the ball or be involved in the play. His mere size and ability dictates constantly knowing where he is, which should open things up for monroe

I think he has much better hands as well as feel for the game than D Jordan. He is also more disciplined even in college, but i think that has more to do with the coaches than D jordan's ability.

i'm sorry but i really feel Rap fans are reaching. i watched the entire game and didn't see this IMPACT that rap fans are claiming. He got 2 blocks on monroe, however couldn't keep monroe off the boards, additionally A. Johnson also was owning monroe. Monroe had a horrible offensive game. he got all his buckets on put backs

One thing i did notice is that he does run the floor and i do understand when you guys say he's fundemental. i was cracking up when DD and Lucas kept looking away from him or chucking shots. i wanted to see what he had on the offensive end. He also is a lot bigger than i had thought as well.

i think overall he's a great compliment to Bargs, and should be what Raps need, but he had a mediocre at best game last night

All I'm saying is both players remind me of each other. Both freak athletes with a limited offensive game. So far it seems like Drummond will get better at it in time than Jordan, but make no mistake, Drummond's biggest strength will be his defense just like Jordan's is.

Deandre Jordan isn't a particularly good defender, he isn't particularly good at anything to be frank.
