Magic trade: JJ Redick, Al Harrington, Gustavo Ayon
Magic receive: 2013 1st Rd Pick, Gary Neal, DeJuan Blair, Matt Bonner, S-Jax expiring (bought out)

C: Nikola Vucevic, DeJuan Blair, KOQ
PF: BBD, Andrew Nicholson, Matt Bonner
SF: Hedo Turkoglu, Moe Harkless, Q-Rich
SG: Arron Afflalo, Gary Neal, DeQuan Jones
PG: Jameer Nelson, Ish Smith, E'Twaun Moore
* Not taking into account McRoberts, Eyenga, Johnson & Johnson, or Harper

Blair and Neal are both FAs after this year and are both serviceable role players. I don't love Blair, but word is SAS is trying to move him for value. Neal is cheap and effective and could possibly be resigned to an economy deal. We send JJ to a contender, bottom out further, drop Al's contract, pick up some cheap talent, and add a pick along the way.

Spurs get back superior talent in Redick, Harrington, and Ayon, and can likely add Jackson back after the moritorium passes. SAS is in a good position to resign Redick, and likely in a better position than any other franchise to retain Ayon given the team's Mexican fanbase and the city's proximity to Mexico and its Spanish speaking popation. Harrington is exactly the sort of guy the spurs love to bring in. Spurs are very unlikely to resign Blair, and would likely opt to resign Redick over Neal, esp. if Pop can work his magic and ge him for less than market rate. Otherwise, Spurs remain in a prime position to bring back Neal as an UFA.

Is anyone else liking what we're seeing from preseason? i think i am....wins and losses doesn't mean anything at this point but we're losing close games where our Starters only play 1 half and are not even playing in the 4th quarter plus we have key players out......we will be better as time goes on this preseason with games and practice....the offense and defense will sharpen even more and we'll get some guys back from injury that can help us....the coaching difference is like night and day.....Stan used to call every play down the floor....last night and Sunday at Mexico it wasn't until damn near 3rd quarter before Coach Vaughn called one play....

In Preseason with coach Vaughn we're seeing what we have in the young guys and trying to develop them....with Stan we would hardly see the young guys since he didn't really focus on development and basically only needed them for practice dummies.....i think we're headed in the right direction

I get a bad feeling in the regular season we are going to be seeing way too much of the vets.

Yeah, forget about the wins. I kind of tuned out of the game actually toward the end. It didn't really matter who won. I was glad to see Nicholson get more comfortable and look like the guy we saw in Summer League. He needs to work on his defense, but he'll come around. Vucevic rebounds pretty well; he's not Brook Lopez on the glass. If he can develop a post-game, look out...Ayon is just a fun player to watch and may be one of the better back up centers we've ever had. It's all about potential, and I saw plenty of it.

This team will sock people. They remind a lot of the grizzlies, especially with all the bigs we have. We are deep as well. I wouldn't be shocked if we won 45 games tbh...

took me a while but i think i just jumped off the Harper bandwagon.....i was still on there as the wheels started to come off but i think this might be it for him....2 preseason games in he barely even saw any court time even Armon Johnson has seen more court time than Harper and Armon hasn't been great.....IDK man maybe we'll see him in the Cleveland game but who knows maybe he'll be cut before then....i don't get it i thought he had potential and he played well overseas.....don't get it....

Harper even looked bad in warmups.

I can consistently hit more jumpers than him and that's what he gets paid to do! lol

Very impressed with Jones though!

Harper is a poor mans Brian Cook and thats not good.

I still cant believe Otis traded 2 2nd round picks just to move up a few spots to grab him without ever interviewing or working him out! Those two picks with our projected record would have actually been pretty valuable.

The FO seems to see something in Dequan if we had him in summer league where his stats weren't that impressive and then signed him for the pre season. It would surprise me if hes cut, Harper on the other hand would surprise me if hes still here.

The 2 Johsons, Harper, Eyenga(sucks hes injured would like to see him play) and then the 5th to get to 15 is tricky for me it could be:
McBob- he has an expiring which is two fold easy to cut since he comes off the books next year any way and easy to trade for the same reason, his attitude does seem a bit bad.
Q- Vet. cheap contract 2 years if he picks up his option, decent defender, gritty, I do like him as a person he seems like a decent dude but injuries and age slowed him.
Jones-young, athletic, needs to improve but will most likely be 3rd string so as I said above would surprise me if hes gets the axe.

just listened to Friday's practice interviews apparently Justin not playing was just Coach wanted to get other guys extended minutes....so it sounds like he'll be getting his chance to play the next preseason game....still he has to prove something to me now instead of me just giving him a pass

agree with this.

When deciding between McBob & Q...just think who has more value? IMO, it's Josh, so we keep him and try to flip him by February. But he adds to the deep PF position, and may take time away from 'Drew or not get any PT to display his value.

If McRoberts really has a bad attitude, I'd much rather have Q's good attitude on the bench.

I think Nicholson has earned his back up 4 minutes (unless Harrington comes back and steals them). So between Q and McR we're deciding who's better on the bench. And we all know how good Q is on the bench.

I agree, I would choose Josh over Q. I don't see the purpose of having Q on this team. Now with that said, I'm not sure about the whole "Josh's bad attitude" thing though. If that's true, I don't want someone on the team that is detrimental either.

honestly i didn't know anything about Dequan jones so predictably i hit youtube just to get some preliminaries....came across this mix....i got to say some of these dunks are very impressive for in game dunks.....

that being said for someone so athletic i like the fact that in these preseason games we've seen more of his all-around game.....he isn't someone like a Gerald Green or James "Flight" White....he has other facets to his game that you can potentially build on.....can't lie i'm intrigued with this kid.....

many players are gifted, hes just another player that has no idea how to utilize his athletic ability, needs like 10 years in the D league to actually work on his basketball game

Magicman i understand what you're trying to get at but for me personally i go by what i see....my eyes don't lie man.....he's playing well and he's playing well NOW against Nba teams....if he keeps playing well in these preseason games i don't see a reason to not keep him on the roster....i don't understand why you would send him down to the D-league when he's playing well right now and making an impact.....now of course things can change but right now he's safe in my eyes we will see where things stand later on though....
