"Watch this guy play defense. Asik is a monster, one of the five or 10 best players in the league at this end. He was 10th among centers in blocks per minute, but that doesn't even begin to tell the story. Of all the players in the league to defend at least 200 plays last season, Synergy rated him first. The Bulls gave up 7.6 points per 100 possessions less with him on the court, the second straight season they had a massive disparity in his minutes, and he finished fifth in the league in rebound rate and 10th among centers in blocks per minute."

I love watching Omer on D.

The coaches are raving about him in training camp so far; even saw one P&R play with him and Lin in scrimmage. I'm excited to see what he can do in more minutes.

I'm encouraged by some of the reports, but my expectations for Asik remain the same: anchor the defense, clog up the middle. Anything else is a bonus.

Really looking forward to seeing how his game looks when he's on the court with Patterson, Motie and the other Rockets bigs.

Yeah, he's a large man, and surprisingly mobile for his size.

Take care of the big fella for us. I was probably his 2nd biggest fan on the Bulls board.

There is always the "off-season" hype. I'm shocked that there are no reports of him growing two inches over the summer as well. (Tyrus Thomas every year)

I would not put much faith in his offense getting much better..his hands are made out of concrete....but that is not why you paid him.

Defense baby...he can lock it down. Where he has improved from his rookie year is not fouling every 14 seconds. When he can stay in the game, he can really impact that side of the court.

wouldn't be surprised if he averaged 12-13 reb per game this season.

I'll be happy if he averages 11+ reb per game this year.

I think he'll be special for us, a solid big man since a while.

omer will give you great D and rebounding whenever he's on the floor. if he stays out of foul trouble (refs haven't given him much respect to this point), he'll earn his money even if his offense remains painful

Asik's offense is much better than Bull fans give him credit for. (atleast from what i've seen in preseason)

well...he's a good offensive rebounder. aside from that, the numbers pretty much speak for themselves
