is he really playing that good? he needs to do better than just ok in a preseason game..whats helping him is the injuries to harkless, afflalo and ish, so he has a chance to make the team for that reason, but once those guys come back hes forgotten

a guy in his situation needs to stand out, and play amazing, im just not the one to get excited when we seen this story a thousand times

all i'm saying is he's playing well....it's just that i'm used to having guys on the floor in the past that just stunk it up whether against scrubs or starters.....it's refreshing to me to see a guy like him that's playing for his lively hood play well when the lights are on.....i'm not saying he's a lock to make it.....all i'm saying is he's playing well enough to make the team SO FAR....Sure as hell rather have him than Q....that's for damn sure....

i understand what your saying, but there's maybe 1 roster spot open, 0 depending on how you look at it, in 50 minutes hes gotta do better than 12pts, 4reb, 4stls, 3 turnovers and 6 personal fouls when hes on the outside looking in, hes not a vet, he wasn't drafted by the team, and he wasn't guaranteed a contract, thats not gonna do it, but like i said we have 5 or so people injured, we need the body's so he has a chance, im just not blown away by his play

at this point in his career Q has more value in the locker room than he does on the court, hes not gonna give the team much, maybe he even gets cut

I think Dequan is going to get over hyped just like Liggins I need more of him to make a call.

Why are we projecting Harkless as a rotation guy?

I always thought he was going to be more of a project?

Don't get me wrong, I liked him in the draft. Was a little pissed when Philly drafted him. But I think you guys might be getting your hopes up.

Or am I missing something? Was his summer league awesome?

To me i much rather give Q's spot to a young up and comer to be honest....we're rebuilding right now i don't want a cheerleader i rather give his spot to a young guy and see what we have....but that's just me

I dont think Jones is near Liggins level of overhype yet (or legit defense/glue-guy potential) but Im on Jones' bandwagon too

The dunks at around :40 seconds and 1:13 were breathtaking.

Moe got some big hype from some Magic players before he got sidelined. Vaughn's rotations so far also suggest Moe will be in there, especially since SF is not as rotation heavy as PF/C.

Has anyone else noticed how well the rookies of this year's draft class have acclimated themselves to the NBA game in the preseason so far? I know it's only preseason, but these guys are doing exceptionally well for their first times.

A couple of performances that stuck out to me:

Jared Sullinger had 16 points, 8 rebounds, 1 block in 26 minutes in his debut.
Brad Beal had 18 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals in 26 minutes in his 1st game and 15 points and 5 rebounds in his 2nd game.
Anthony Davis had 22 points, 9 rebounds, 1 block in 29 minutes against the Bobcats.
Andre Drummond had 12 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks in 22 minutes against the Raptors.
Terrence Jones had 20 points, 6 rebounds, 1 block in 25 minutes against the Thunder.
Jeremy Lamb had 12 points and 8 rebounds in 24 minutes against the Thunder.
Damian Lillard had 14 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds in 23 minutes against the Lakers.
Harison Barnes had 20 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal in 36 minutes against Maccabi Haifa.
Dion Waiters had 18 points, 3 assists in 26 minutes tonight against the Bulls.
Meyers Leonard had 10 points and 5 rebounds in 17 minutes against the Lakers.

Those are just a few of the games I've glanced through and seen players play really well. I'm sure there are other rookies doing pretty well, which makes me a bit excited to see what Harkless can do. He was among that crop of rookies and it would be immensely encouraging to see Harkless play just as well.

Sucks that we're gonna be the fans that get more excited about rookie play than we do about championship hopes.

But yeah, been some solid performances from rookies so far. I've got a strong hunch that Beal is going to be a lot better than a lot of people expected.

Lol you have a strong hunch huh? You, me, and 95% of the sporting world. Pretty much all the ROTY projections I see have AD, Lillliard, and Beal in the top 3.

Off topic but I got a chuckle...
http://www.rotoworld.com/content/player ... 167&spln=1

The Lakers "[have] made it clear...that Chris Duhon and Steve Blake are available via trade," according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

I probably Won't be laughing for long though...
Im sure they will somehow turn chris duhon into Josh smith And a draft pick

Lillard is massively overrated. That dude will be a backup within 3 years.

When I say Beal is going to be better than a lot of people expected, I mean he's going to be better than just a ROTY nom (which is what people expect). I've got a hunch that he could become one of the league's elite.

That Washigton backcourt could be next in line to take over from Miami in a few years.

The fakers the only damn team in the league that can get rid of trash and turn it into all stars. It must be nice to have the league bail you out of garbage players with **** contracts all the damn time smh.

Continuing with the rookie trend, Drummond has 18 and 10 so far tonight.

After his miserable summer league, Drummond has had a very nice start to his preseason.
