Injury update:

Seahawks-

Moffit (G) is out with a knee issue. Unger (C) is questionable with a bad hip

Pats

A Hernandez (TE) will probably find his way back on the field for the first time since the Cards injured him.

Things to Watch:

1. Wilson's.... growth
Quite a few of the int's have been receivers coughing it up to defenders, and we have had big plays called back by stupid penalties, but Wilson will have to continue to be better for us to score enough to win.

2. Sped rushers vs Tom's protection
If Irvin and Clem can get in on Tom the no huddle the Patriots love will be a rapid bruise machine for Brady.

3. Welker in the slot
This worries me. I haven't seen much from Trufant this year and last good slot wr we saw (Amendola) scorched up.

4. O line penalties
Okung and Breno need to clean their act up. No more costing us big plays and forcing Wilson to be predictable to get long distance conversions.

5. Special Teams
Just a hunch, but this game could have a lot to do with special teams.

Predictions-
Seattle 17 New England 21 I'm basing this mostly on the Welker factor... of course that's one or two Kam bams away from being a non factor.

I wonder if they match up put Lloyd on Browner, Sherm on Welker and Kam on Gronk esp if Hernandez is out. Going to be a fun game. Russell has to step up big. Pats run D is awesome pass D is awful. Can't do run, run, pass, punt against this team.

I'm so excited for this game, and have no idea what this game is going to look like. NEP's Oregon-like offense v. SEA's top shelf defense. The key is getting off the field on 3rd down because New England will not allow us the opportunity to substitute/change defensive packages as they march down the field.

Interesting stat from Pro Football Focus [via Twitter]: Welker gets 2.73 yards per slot route run while Trufant gives up 0.76 per slot route in coverage. Welker's great at what he does, but so far Trufant appears to be holding his own in the slot.

Interestingly, Okung's one of only two left tackles to NOT give up a sack this year. The false stats have been irritating but he's be doing very well in pass protection.

Breno played under control after his benching last week. I expect the message to stick because it's clear if he makes those mistakes then he isn't playing. Or maybe he'll go full Richie Incognito and completely implode.

Great 1st drive for the Seahawks...then run-run-run in the end zone and we're forced to settle for a FG. Great.

The Patriots just completely carved up the Seahawks defense on that drive. 7-3 Patriots. But hey...we got a field goal! And we might even get another one on our next drive!

A fumble by Wilson and botched snap on a punt but the score remains close

AT THE HALF: Patriots go into the locker room up 17-10. Seahawks catch a HUGE break with intentional grounding called to cost the Patriots a FG attempt.

I don't know that this is something I ever thought I'd say, but at this point if we lose the game I think you could put it squarely on Earl Thomas' shoulders. He let Welker streak past him for a TD, dropped an interception in the red zone that seemed a strong bet for a pick six, and then dropped another one matched up against Gronkowski at the end of the half. If give the Patriots those kind of breaks, you are going to lose.

I don't think the defense was the problem. The offense had two good possessions to start the game then nothing consistently good

The defense has allowed 399 yards and 23 first downs. They've been able to get very little pressure against Brady and he's picked them apart.

They have also picked off Brady twice

After dropping two other sure interceptions en route to spotting New England 20 points in the first half. They've played better in the second half, but one half of decent defense isn't enough against a team like the Patriots.

...or rather, it shouldn't be enough. Edwards just caught a HUGE TD pass and now the 'Hawks will have a chance to make it a one possession game. What the defense did or didn't do up tip now doesn't matter much...they've got to keep the Patriots off the board and give the offense a chance to win it.

DAMN...Sherman drops a pick. They're killing me. This game could've been absolute curb-stomping of the Patriots but just too many missed opportunities.

Actually it was 17 at the half :D and the offense has 3 three and outs this game and another possession that was only 3 plays that ended in a fumble. The offense need not score on every possession but it should hold onto the ball long enough to give the defense a rest

Agreed, and the defense certainly showed up in the second half. Now it's on the offense to bring this thing home.

3rd and ? *sigh*

Hey, it's 3rd and 3...let's dial up a low percentage deep ball and then punt it when it fails!

What an odd game! I dread the thought of a game winning FG by New England, but I'm pretty happy that the Seahawks were able to make this a game.

woweee wow wow.. awesome! wilson proved he can make explosive plays with his arm, we won without going to lynch on every down, and saw a long drive when we needed it most. impressive
