Petition to Save Andrew Goudelock
What did Goudelock do to Mike Brown?
Gouldelock is simply better then Morris Duhon
and I would want him to play over Odom and Blake
We need to keep shooters on this team. Glock isn't the greatest at creating but if he played with Dwight or Nash he would be lethal. He should be our back up point guards in spurts. He is a talented player and might be our 3rd best guard. It's a shame our coaching staff doesn't care for him... I would love to buy out Morris or Duhon to reatain Glock

Re: Petition to Save Andrew Goudelock
That floater is sick! I would take him too over Duhon or Morris. He can shoot 3s and that was one of the Laker's weakness. And with Nash, is it better to have as much shooters as possible? Sucks Duhon and Morris' contract are guaranteed.

Re: Petition to Save Andrew Goudelock
I just don't get why we gave Darius Morris the guaranteed contract. He hasnt shown us anything in Summer league or last season to warrant that smh. I wish we'd given it to Goudelock instead smh

Re: Petition to Save Andrew Goudelock
No idea why we are keeping Morris who sucks on every level of play, let it be in the NBA, summer league, or preseason. The only positive Morris has is his size, but so does Smush Parker. He isn't that great of a ball handler, fairly average at play making, drives out of control, and can't shoot worth a damn. Ebanks I could understand, at least he showed some promise. Morris never showed us anything.

If only Goudelock was like a few inches taller and could defend shooting guards well...

Re: Petition to Save Andrew Goudelock
Tark finally makes a decent thread, but it's not going to help G-Lock. The problem with AG is he's a true shooter stuck in a 1 guards body and he has no 1 guard skills. I agree we need an extra shooter, but outside of that AG doesn't do anything that well.
Anybody with some ball IQ knows we're gonna need more than just shooting. Outsiders are already overplaying our need of shooters when it's an established fact we'll be an interior team. Kobe, Steve, Metta and Twan will provide enough distance shooting to empty the interior for our inside guys. Then also Pau will hit his own jumper to keep the D in check.
I'll say it and bet money on it......there's NEVER been a perimeter only team to win a title. We'll be fine.

Re: Petition to Save Andrew Goudelock
I fully agree with Tark.
Unlike Morris, Goudelock has actually proven himself to be a backup PG. Yeah so he's not the "creator" type, but WHO CARES! Was Fisher EVER? Goudelock was actually one of the best stories from last year, and we need a good, young, Guard.
He can also shoot the damn ball which, last time I checked, is pretty important in basketball.

I think he would be great in the new offense, he'll either be shooting 3's or cutting and showing us that floater of his. He just needs to learn to defend and maybe grow a couple of inches, I wouldn't mind seeing him get a few minutes at SG with Kobe at the 3.

But seriously I would rather have Goudelock over any backup pg in our team. He was one of my favorite player on the squad.

Morris doesnt even deserve to be in NBA. The way he dribble, pass and shoot is like someone who never plays bball in his life.

Re: Petition to Save Andrew Goudelock
People need to stop with this want to play him at the one. At least Derek Fisher had some court vision and the BBIQ to play the position. Goudelock is basically a 6 foot 2 version of Nick Young so I don't blame Mike Brown or the lakers staff in general not even considering him for the back-up PG. As for the Darius hate, that's fine I doubt he's anything special but he completely outplayed Goudelock who was flat our horrendous in the summer league. He was worse than Sacre and Eyenga as well. At least Darius managed a game where he had 24 points by the end of the third quarter and was making all of his mid range jumpers to go along with leading just about every game in assists. Another thing about wanting Goudelock on the roster. Why? He's just going to ride the bench all year because he's surely not playing the back up PG, and he's not going to be inserted as a SG while Meeks,Ebanks, Blake and possibly CDR are on the team. Having him on the team is basically wasting a roster spot at this point.

Re: Petition to Save Andrew Goudelock
Can anyone name a single thing Morris provides that Goudelock doesn't? The question here isn't start Goudelock over Kobe or something like you guys seem to be making it out to be. The question is here shouldn't we give up Morris' roster spot in favor of Goudelock?
Deep, I'm not really seeing the connection between dropping Morris and giving the spot to Goudelock, and not being an inside team. We can still be a non perimeter team and play Goudelock 10-12 mpg with some supplemental bench shooting. It's not like Darius Morris is some kind of force on the inside, so I don't see see what we are losing by doing this. Goudelock can't defend SG's, but neither can Morris. Neither has any court vision. So why not take the guy who's gonna give us some extra buckets?
Morris may have outplayed him in the summer league, but something about Morris' game doesn't translate to the real game where Goudelock's does.

Re: Petition to Save Andrew Goudelock
Some of you guys are making this roster thing a bit too complicated. Outside of the starting 5, Jamison, backup PG in Blake or Duhon and probably a backup 2 guard in CDR or Meeks, none of these guys are going to get any minutes that matter. In the playoffs the minutes for starters and the 6th man increase. The guys like Goudelock that you guys keep whining over arent going to be a make or break in the Lakers run. If they are then LA wasnt ready to make that run to begin with.
Personally the only project guy LA should invest in should be Odom-Johnson. Dude's shooting ability and athleticism at his positions isnt easily duplicated. You can find a Morris and Goudelock in any draft.

Re: Petition to Save Andrew Goudelock
If Goudelock goes to the D-League, the Lakers can always get him back if they free up another spot but if he continues to play the backup SG, that's a lot of size to give up. If the Lakers were still running the triangle, then yes, but there's too much competition right now for the last spots.
