Ok, everyone but Fran and whoever is replacing Sabonis has checked in, so I'm announcing the draft time:

Sunday, October 21, 2012 6:00 PM US Pacific Time, 9PM US Eastern Time.

I think that is 7am Monday October 22 in Istanbul.

It may be a while before I can update the draft time in the league to match that as that draft time is currently full. When some new slots open up I'll set the draft time.

We should wrap up the max moves vote soon, and definitely before the draft. If I haven't miscounted, it's 4 votes for 3 per week, and 3 votes for 45 over the season.

Please post your vote in this thread.

Those of you who cannot make the draft can still influence who ends up on your squad by setting the auction value pre-ranks for players here:

I can't do Sunday, and I don't want to have my team auto-drafted (especially not in an auction league). I'll probably be stepping out of the league this year. Good luck guys.

Hey Brian, can you draft on a Tuesday Oct. 23, at 10 pm ET. I've got an auction league draft scheduled for the Cafe's Auction League (I'm the commissioner). I have 1 or 3 openings. h2h, 9-cat. Continuous waivers with waiver dollars. I need 1 more to get to 12, but open to get 14, so I have 1-3 openings if anyone is interested.

I'll think about it. 10 PM ET is pretty late for me, since I'm in ET.

Sorry to see wb go, but the silver lining is that it evens the league again, so now we don't have to find another manager.

I've finalized the teams and set the draft time to Sunday the 21st, 6pm Pacific US time.

The max moves will be set in response to the vote here, prior to the draft. (at the mmoment it's set to both 3 per week and 45 for season, but one of those two will be removed.)

Frick. I just realized I can't make it now. I still may pre-set values, but I can't be online then.

I noticed you deleted my team. That's fine. Any other day I can probably make an effort to be on at least half the time. It looks like Ham can't do the time either. Can we shoot for the 2nd place time, especially since everyone voted for multiple times?

Why don't we just pick a new time so our longstanding players can continue to be a part of this league?

If I pick a new time there are even more people who can't make it.

That might be the problem if we all just chose 1 time, but we chose multiple times each. How many votes were there for the 2nd place time? In fact, since we have time until the draft, we should probably narrow the times down to 3, then have everyone vote on the 3 times remaining. Offering 50 some odd times up was a bit of a mess anyway.

Unless people are gaming the system, the more times I offer the better. If people said no when they couldn't make it and yes when they could, then we got the time where the most people can make it. Anything else and we'll have fewer.

If you want to know which people can make some specific 3 times, just look on the poll we already did and see who said they could make it then.

I'm happy to add you back in if you want back in and if we can find a 14th manager.

I can reopen the poll if folks want that, and they can change their votes. I'm not going to move to some other system for selecting the draft time. That feels unfair to me to the people who participated in the poll.

edit. hmm, i coulda swore I closed the poll, but I see it was still open and that Fran answered. I changed ham's answer to "no" for the sun 21st 6pm time. But his other times might still be wrong, only he can say. If I do that we have a tie with 7 votes for each of these:

Sun Oct 21, 6pm
Tue Oct 23, 6pm
Sun Oct 28, 6pm

ham said he couldn't make the Oct 23 time. Woody and BWW could make the 21st time we had, but can't make the 23rd. So there will be winners and losers no matter what we do.

Some people picked waay to few yes times to really make this workable. hailfire only picked 8 yeses out of 54 times, for instance. Alci only picked 4. Kudo's to Fran for saying yes to every single time. I guess that's what winning a pile of money will do for your schedule!

Maybe next year I'll set waiver priority or draft budget by how many draft dates people check 'yes'.

hmm, I was thinking about the fair way to do scheduling of this sort while in the shower... which is of course where all good thinking occurs.

I'll have to find a way to do this next year. What should happen is that no one says yes or no to a time. Instead everyone ranks the available times from most desirable to least. That way you don't have the problem of someone only choosing 4 yeses. The ranking is private - you can't see how others ranked until the process is closed.

Then the time that has the minimum average rank is selected.

Doodle doesn't support ranking in this manner. But a coworker of mine has some website code that does. So I may be able to set that up next year.

I have gotten over my league limit by the time the status of this league became certain and would like to withdraw so that Brian can take my place. When I step down, 23 Oct 6PM PDT becomes the leading draft time, which he can make.

Does that work?

If we go with Oct. 23 at 6 pm PT, I can at least participate for the 1st hour and I could try to juggle two Auction drafts at the same time from the 2nd hour on.

Oct 23 = no good for me. Damn these live drafts are hard to schedule.
