ah okay, i didn't read it earlier, i figured u might be some specialist, since i am a Defensive minded SG on the bucks averaging about 3/3/3 (playing on all-star; 3/5)

I am playing 2kgames for years but i still end up struggling eventually. but yeah, passing to kmart seems to be a great solution, having played the rockets for quite some games in associaton!!!

I got drafted by Toronto and Derozan is my go to man for assists.

He is insane, give it to him with a little bit of room and he will pull up for a jumper that is always a swish, or drive in and dunk it.

Really? Jrue Holiday and Thaddeus Young are highly overrated in the game, not to mention Bynum's near unstoppable. I can't catch a break playing against them.

I mean, he should be able to put it down off one leg with one hand. I'm not even asking for anything fancy, I just want him to be able to close out a fastbreak by dunking, instead of bouncing off anyone who's in his way just because he attempts layups with no lift off his feet whatsoever. Now, I'll have to spend about three hard-earned batches of those points just to improve his dunk rating. Got it from 30 to 40 and it's still not enough.

Make sure you go into your my player edit and make sure you have your signature dunks.

You should be able to doing basic rim grazers and one/two handers.

My guy is a 6'7 athletic PG with a dunk rating of 50 but I can still attack the rim and throw them down.

so far i havent spent any of my points. i wanted to play enough games to have a good idea of where my player needs help.

through 4 games my player is averaging 8.5ppg, 4.5apg, 2.0rpg, 60%fg in about 14 minutes. my last game i got 23 minutes and put up 13, 7 and 7.

i am having fun with this game so far.

Early in your career it is good to spend some points on offensive and defensive awareness, keep in mind that your overall will only go up from stats that are applicable to the position and type of player you are, the off and def awareness apply to all positions/types and will make your overall go up quick and cement you with a solid place in the rotation.

Also make sure you buy the Gatorade pack in signatures (only 50SP) as you won't tire in the first quarter and this helps tremendously.

What teams are everyone on??

I put up a triple double in the rookie game and was drafted tenth by New Orleans.

I simulate between key games and play 12 minute quarters, to start with my only rival/key games are the Bobcats :(

The Hawks would probably be the worst team in the game if it weren't for Josh Smith. I just had my best game yet against them: 37 points, 6 assists, 2 rebounds, 6 steals, 2 blocks on 13-18 shooting and 6-9 from distance in only about 20 minutes (screw you virtual Doc Rivers!). The only reason we only won by five is because Josh Smith dropped 29/19 on us. Horford, Williams, Teague, Harris, Morrow, and Korver were all garbage. Smith, Pachulia, and Ivan Johnson were easily their best performers.

I'm starting to get the hang of the game, but I'm still struggling to get my FG% and 3P% up. 60 games into the season, I'm still around 36% from the field and 32% from distance. It seems every time I have a good game, I follow it up with about three stinkers where I shoot like 4-15.

By the way, Kemba was an All-Star, averaging 24ppg on 40% and Gerald Henderson is falling out of the Bobcats rotation- he's getting like 12 minutes a night.

Another thing that bothers me is smart fouls. I'm the guy who uses up intentional fouls whenever I notice that the opponent is going for a 3 on 1 fastbreak or that he's in a position to use an advantage. It drives my friends nuts whenever I do it. So if you do it while controlling the whole team, it's no biggie - the announcers will simply laugh off that you don't know what you are doing. But I made a great intentional foul to stop a sure dunk in my player mode last night, with about 6 minutes left in a close game and the coach instantly sits me down for 4 minutes. I was **** pissed. It's a smart thing to do, can't 2K really add this thing to the game???

I know, I had them on. I had to reach an overall of 53 or something to be able to jam it down.
Right know, we have about 15 games left in the season and we're 5th in the West with the Suns. I have played about 20 to 25 games myself, so I wouldn't get that bored, I play key games from time to time. But now I'm thinking about doing the stretch myself and making sure that we reach the Nuggets who are 3 games in front of us. The only time I played against them, their bigs annihilated our front court and we came out with a really tough W. I'd like to have home court advantage.

Do accessories add to your attributes? Like, Rec specs +5 AWR -2 STR?

They don't make your overall go up but they add certain perks, I am level one floor general which makes all my team mates +2 in all their offensive attributes, level 3 adds 5; defensive anchor does the same for defense.

wow, floor general, defensive anchor?? it seems like I have missed out on these, since I've only seen the option to buy other player pre-game rituals (total rubbish), signature shot releases of other players (bought Allen's jumper, it's just so beautiful) and all kinds of improvements skill-wise, like you not getting tired during the first quarter, the ability to give out better outlet passes, etc. Can you buy the floor general thingy with the latter? I'd love to be a legit point forward.

The game looks great for PS3 & Xbox360, but the PC version is essentially nuetered in comparison. No Virtual Credits, no My Team, no My Closet..... Pathetic, thought the would have treated us PC players better. Glad I didn't buy it now!

kinda what i was asking before, is it better to spend points on perks, like floor general, or better to spend points on attributes? I have about 700 points and i just cant decide what to do. i bought the gatorade thing for 50 and threw a few points on off awareness.

side note - if i got 5 points every time marcus morris blew one of my assists my player would have max stats by now. he blows. no idea why he is getting PT over royce and jones and monteijunas.

CPU had drummond starting over monroe last game i played vs pistons. monroe came off bench. oh, and i want to punch brandon knight in the throat.

and what is really frustrating - right now i am backup PG to lin. they sub me in at PG where i play for 1 minute, then they stub toney douglas in and move me to SG. ARGH!!! i can't rack up the assists from SG because douglas is a ball hog. of course, then lin subs back in and i am still at SG. lin is a bigger ball hog that douglas. he just goes 1 v 1 the entire time until he can drive the paint for a layup.

oh, and my player interviews are awful.

i believe if you want more playing time at your position/carry more weight in the GM meetings your overall rating from attributes probably would be a better investment since I dont think the sig skills affect overall.

This is also a great site for that. Originally an NBA Live site, but they've expanded a ton and it's obviously now expanded to 2k, since Live hasn't released a game for '11, '12, or '13. There's a great patching community there, which I'm glad to be an [occasional] part of.

I'm already essentially a point forward. I made myself a 6'4 PG, but Doc Rivers insists on making me play any position 1-4 on a regular basis, plus KG, Chandler, Pierce, and Bass are godly assist targets. I'm saving up to be a "floor general" which would just make my team AMAZING, as we've just started to win games on a regular basis, finally looking up at the 8th seed.

I just did the Larry Bird training sessions which was good value for 400.

I ended up with about 10 pts spread over the shooting skills

I think early on it's better to add to your attributes and get the perks later; establish yourself in the rotation and then round yourself out; 700 points on off & def awareness will probably make your overall go up 4+ points.

Talk to your GM if you want more minutes and surprisingly the GM listens to your suggestions.
