There was an article at some point that he was competing for backup SF minutes and an 8th/9th man type of role. Obviously at this point it is all speculation and nothing definitive, but wouldn't mind seeing what he can do in some regular season games early on.

He will get a shot in the saeason with some decent PT. However, I don't see him cracking a playoff rotation unless he finds a Niche to contribute (I.e scoring, rebounding, hustle) he seems to do a bit of everything.

Raptor fan here. I was also high on PJ III pre draft. Unfortunately I havnt watched any thunder pre season/SL games. hoe does he look on the court? Does he still go invisible from time to time on the court? Does he clearly have a position yet? 3 or a 4?

For someone who is going to be our 9th man, I'm really not concerned about him going invisible for stretches. Concerning if you expect him to carry your team, not so much if you just expect him to fill a small role.

I do believe he wont be your 9th man, he can be the reason to put Harden to starting 5 because Jones can be that spark off the bench for you guys with his scoring ability

I do think he need to just keep defence honest for us to move Harden into the lineup if Brooks so wished.
Afterall i doubt we'll be playing the full bench lineup for a stretch. Though Maynor/Harden/PJIII/Collison has apparantly look good as a bench combo.

Perry Jones is a very good complementary player; he would be a combo player to match up with Ibaka,Durant or Collison or Perkins and Aldrich or any other center. He provides the Thunder with mutiple options and player combinations plus the additional size. The weaknesses in his game are post up play as a NBA player and defense. Can he take the physical pounding of the NBA ?

I've thought it would be a long shot for him to see rotation minutes to start the year, but I'm thinking now it's 50/50 whether or not he supplants Cook. The three guard bench lineups with Cook, Maynor, and Harden have performed so well in the past I'm not sure if it'd be wise to abandon it so quickly, but the way Brooks has been talking and the lack of PT for Cook in the preseason tells me something else.

When Presti first took the job he stated that he thought Durant, Jeff Green and Rashard Lewis could all play together, creating various match up advantages against opposing teams. Years later, Presti has potentially improved upon the original formula with Durant, Serge Ibaka and Perry Jones III.

I've been impressed with Jones in the preseason and am hopeful that he gets enough playing time to continue to develop.

Perry had many supporters on the Raps board. Many believed in his potential. But were concerned about his tweener position and being way to passive. I'm routing for him.

Is anyone on the Raps board currently worried about Ross's tweener position or him being way too passive?

This is what I'm worried about. Our lineups with Harden at the 3 are stupid effective, so I'm hoping that Brooks still gets Cook in there at SG for bench small ball.

^dont worry, probably it will be like Maynor-Cook-Harden-Jones-Collison. But I think Harden at the starting 5 with Westbrook+Durant would make your starting 5 so much better and finally make Westbrook-Harden-Durant trio working rather than iso all the time. But that's just me

I can't speak for everyone but I agree he's very passive at times. I'm not really worried about it cause I'm sure he'll pick it up. But I like his skill set. I'm not sure he's a twerner lol. Clearly he's a two. Maybe if he adds some bulk he can play the three? But I see him as a two. But either way he needs to add some bulk to his frame. Pretty good defender/rebounder too.
