It would have been too much of a reach. Not to hate on MKG, but I still like the possibility we had to trade down and draft someone like Drummond or Barnes AND receive a stud in the actual trade.

I wanted #6 and #11 for our pick and looking back, I would've liked Drummond and either Terrence/Perry Jones or Mo Harkless and we could still pick JT at #31.

Still, I'll be sticking with MKG.

I wouldn't have gone for drummond with the #6, rather I would have looked at Lamb or Damian Lillard (if he was till available)

I thought about Lillard for sure, but would you seriously have drafted another scoring PG right after drafting Kemba and with DJ Augustin still on the team, and possibly already talking to Ramon Sessions? Jeremy Lamb would've been a real reach at #6 and our 2-guard slot is also set with Hendo and Gordon there. Also JT and Kemba would be getting spot minutes there as well. No question we would be drafting a forward or a center.

Anyway, my completely unrelated question to you guys: which teams are you looking forward to seeing this year?

I really like the new additions to the Mavericks and Suns. I think the Mavs are a sure thing to make the playoffs and OJ Mayo could finally live up to his potential there. Same thing goes to Beasley on the Suns, but I think they miss out on the playoffs only because of how deep the Western Conference is.
I also think Denver is a darkhorse contender. Their starting five is explosive and their bench depth is a huge plus.
The Lakers are going to be *gulp* awesome to watch with *gulps again* Steve Nash in purple and gold. It'll probably be the first time in my life where I've watched Steve Nash and rooted against him (games against Charlotte don't count)
Of course the Thunder, Heat, and Celtics have improved immensely. I still think the Thunder are the team to beat. A year older and a year more experienced could make all the difference for these young guys. PJ3 is lottery talent and could be the missing piece.
I also think Melo and Amare will figure out how to play together this season. If that happens, and the team is healthy, they're contenders as well.

This is going to be a great season.

I'm looking forward to seeing how good the Lakers can become with Dwight Howard & Steve Nash added to the mix. I'm also interested to see if the Celtics can win the #1 seed in the East over the Heat. I believe that Jared Sullinger will replace Brandon Bass in the starting lineup sooner than later to add a new dynamic to Boston's offense. The return of Derrick Rose to the Bulls will be intriguing around the February/March time period. That's about it as far as teams that I'm looking forward to seeing this year (other than the Bobcats), because I'm more of a follower of certain players when it's not my team. Agreed, this will be a great season.

The Suns are going to be interesting. I watched a preseason game where they started Jared Dudley at the 2. I LMAO. Very interested in the Blazers with Lillard and Leonard, Batum justifying his contract, and LMA as the de dacto "the man."

Also curious to see how the Arctic Wolves gel together all their new whiteness. Can the W's brittle stars of Bogut and Curry stay healthy? Will David Lee ever learn how to play defense? Barnes and Klay, etc.

As far as the big market teams, don't really care b/c I know I'll be inundated with them thanks to ESPN. I am curious to see the Knicks' absolutely ancient PG rotation of JKidd and Prigioni, with Felton as the spring chicken.

The more I look at the Nuggets' roster the more I'm convinced they're a future championship team. Javale could be the next big thing if he ever gets his head screwed on straight (or even close to it), Gallo just needs to stay healthy and he'll be a 20ppg scorer, Lawson is another guy with a super bright future and Iguodala is the perfect fit for the team. Faried is a soon-to-be double-double guy and their bench is DEEP. They could even have cap space. Scary good future.

Even though their roster is stacked with young and likeable dudes, I don't think that it will happen. It's just that the history of the league proves that you can't win a title without a legit superstar. I don't see any of those players rising to that level. Although I have to say that would be such a cool championship team, it seems like they will be my favorite team that I don't root for the second season in a row or ever since the Melo trade. I hope they'll end up at least 5th in the conference, otherwise it seems very likely that they will be bounced in the first round. Not that I'm saying that they'll be an easy match-up for one of the juggernauts, but I can see that entertaining 48-win season and a 7-game first round loss happening.

I agree, but the 2004 Detroit Pistons may have a bone to pick with you.

Random preseason observations/predictions thus far:

Deandre Jordan is going to be a beast this year.

The Mavericks appear to have themselves a player in Jae Crowder. He's a stat stuffer across all categories AND he's dropping threes.

Think that teams are going to be pissed for sleeping on PJ III? OKC continues to put great pieces in place.

Damian Lilliard looks like the real deal.

Drummond will have a wildly erratic year, but so long as he can balance the highs and lows in his rookie season, it's a good sign that he belongs in the league.

Yeah, of course there always will be the '04 Pistons, but they seem to be the only team to do it in the history of the league.

every time i watch bledsoe he blows he away. one day he could be a serious stud. that clippers team has to be the deepest in the league. crazy deep.

sucks about love. i am afraid this will cause them to miss the playoffs and then next summer love goes all diva on the wolves and demands a trade to the lakers. the wolves panic and accept gasol in return for love. gasol and rubio reunited. and love and howard form the sickest frontcourt in the league for the next 5 years.

Question: Would you trade Kemba for Bledsoe to be the 'Cats future PG?

I sure as hell wouldn't. He's athletic, plays defense, and dunks. That is all. He really does just about nothing else.

he is a little bigger and stronger, faster, more athletic and younger. he has more upside. he may never really learn how to play pg and turn out to be nothing more than a backup, but i would take that chance. and if both end up as nothing more than career backups, i still like bledsoe more because he is more explosive and can impact a game in 5-10 minutes more than kemba can.
