LAKERS AND DOWNTOWN LA QUESTIONS

Post#1 » by aussie_laker » Thu Oct 18, 2012 12:17 am

Hi All,

I'm heading to LA from Australia in the middle of November and have tickets to two games, Spurs @ Lakers and Heat @ Clippers (back to back)

Staying in Hollywood, I want to know the best places to head to before and after the game - either stay downtown or head back to hollywood.

any help would be great!

Thanks!

I agree. It's like right next to staples and it has everything.

If your looking for something to do during the day, Venice Beach is always a good time. LA live, Hollywood blvd ect...

Whatever you do, just keep in mind that with LA traffic, getting back to staples center can take 3x longer than normal before a game

edit: if your taking strictly pregame/postgame LA Live is it. Literally right across the street

It really depends your style and budget. If you tell us more about yourself we could offer better suggestions.

If you're interested in the scene that you've heard or read about on tv; then you would visit Universal City, Santa Monica, Pier, Venice Beach as people suggested.

But LA has a lot more than that. If you're around on the 15th...there is a really neat self-guided tour of the Downtown LA Artwalk where tons of people come out and check out all the local galleries and pop-ups http://downtownartwalk.org/

Get to downtown a couple of hours before. You don't want to risk missing out because of traffic. Party it up before the game. Afterwards, head straight back to Hollywood. It's a big city. You want to party near where you're staying at. Much more convenient.

What type of music do you like bro? LA night life is pretty awesome. But it's not on the level as Miami of course.

Since it sounds like you have a very limited time, go to one of those TMZ tours around Beverly Hills and LA. I know it's touristy but you'll learn something and it's somewhat fascinating. If you want to bump into celebrities, take a stroll down Robertson and Burton Way.
