So you agree Blatche would disrupt our offense with our starters?

PetroNet wrote:Blatche is very frustrating to watch. He is talented, and a bit skilled, but his bbiq is just mind numbingly low. In instances where he get the ball 12 feet and in, makes 1 decisive move, 1 or 2 dribbles towards the hoop, good things usually happen. when he has the ball in the triple threat postion and passes, good things usually happen.
on the other side, when he passes of the dribble, horrible things usually happen. when he operated 15 feet and out, terrible things usually happen. when he takes more then 1 or 2 dribbles, horrible things usually happen. when he tries to create offense for himself. horrible things usually happen.
Defenisvely, he is active. he is competitive. he hustles. he has heart and drive. the issue again is an insanely low bbiq. out of position. overplays. fouls in dumb situations when he doesnt need to. he is a defensive 3 seconds waiting to happen. overplays. gives the baseline. bites to often. helps when he shouldnt be. doesnt help when he should be.
I have come around SLIGHTY on him after last nights(wizrds) game. because i think if you can have him in the game where he is a 5th option and run your offense so he never ever ever ever ever ever touches the ball more then 12 feet out and is never allowed to take more then 1 dribble that he can help you enough of offense and be active enough on defense where he will be a net positive on the court.
If avery can find a way to hide him on defense, be smart with his rotations, and drill into his head that he is now a catch and shoot/catch and dunk/catch and quick post move player, he might be worth keeping in the rotation.
i think tonite was the perfect microcosm of Blatche. Box score looks good, glimpses of talent. tons and tons of mental errors. tons of low bbiq plays that cost us. and overall not nearly the impact his volume stats dictate he should have had. that said, im less pessimistic today then i was saturday.

I knew that, was looking for some of the newbs to give us an idea like 624, trying to measure the youth on this board, but we're happy to have all of you regardless..

1) It's preseason.
2) Blatche is not going to play enough minutes to win the 6th man award. The 6th man award basically goes to a player who gets as many minutes as a starter but starts the game off the bench.

I remember that season well. It was the year I was heartbroken we drafted Kenny Anderson over a chance to pair up Billy Owens with DC. We already had Mookie and as a die hard CUSE fan...I wanted them to play together in the worst way.
But the joke was on all of us. It wasnt the big three of that draft class LJ, Kenny and Billy O that ended up being the best player of that class. It was the 4th pick. MUTOMBO!
Which is why I said that it's not a very realistic scenario but a possibility. If Blatche really pans out for us, I can see us using him instead of Humphries at the end of games.jeff1624 wrote:PetroNet wrote:
thre is no way in hell blatche is taking humphries spot. hump is a far superior rebounder, defender, and is much more efficent. he is almost never a net negative on the court. you dont want blatche on the floor with our starters. he could really disrupt our offense
Humphries is a terrible defender himself. He isn't that efficient either. But I agree with the rest, Blatche won't start ahead of Humphries anytime soon.
