OT: Fantasy Sleepers
There used to be a thread on this somewhere but I couldn't find it so I guessed it has died down. Anyway, feel free to lock merge or whatever if this is redundant.
I could use some insight on fantasy sleepers. Who have you got? So far I'm thinking
Alec Burks
Quincy Pondexter
Tristan Thompson
Corey Brewer
Brandon Roy obviously
Aaron Afflalo obviously
How do you feel about:
Nando de Colo
Doron Lamb
DeQuan Jones
Eddy Curry
Perry Jones

Re: OT: Fantasy Sleepers
Jrue Holliday - Without igo around I suspect he may jump from being pretty good in to being an acceptable #1 fantasy PG option. Last year I saw him taken in the 6th-7th rounds in the 3 leagues I was in. I suspect he goes late 4/early 5 if youre smart.
OJ Mayo/Darren Collison - Afterthoughts the last few years but both are on 1 year "prove it" type deals. Dirk's knee is hurting so someone is going to have to help pick up the slack. In New Orleans Collison was deadly as a starter. He had Westbrook type TO numbers but also averaged around 17 and 9 with high steals and 3's. Mayo has always been a great source of points/3's when he got minutes without damaging your percentages.
Ersan Ilyasova - As a starter he averaged 14 and 9 with 1 3/1 steal/1 block last year which puts him in elite company being able to contribute in peripheral stats. With Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings chunking up 15-20 shots a game a piece there should be plenty of rebounding opportunities for Ilyasova. I suspect he will be around for you in round 6 or 7 and will be a sneaky good pick for you there.
Kenneth Faried - No one is really challenging him for minutes this year so the Manimal could easily put up 15PPG and contend for a rebounding crown. He will also contribute in blocks and FG%.

Re: OT: Fantasy Sleepers
I'd keep an eye out on Jae Crowder. I've watched the rookie play since college and he will get you the gritty stats: blocks/steals/rebounds. In college he was known for his consistency and hustle. I dont think he'll be as good as he performed yesterday but hoping it'll be somewhere in the ball park.
FYI Against PHX yesterday he put up: 10 points 4-7 shooting, 1 made three, 6 Reb, 1 Ast, 5 steals, 3 blocks 0 turnovers in 26 mintues...
To be honest I don't know why he wasn't in any of the early mock drafts (for the real draft) and dropped so low. Statistically he was one of the best all around players in coming out of the NCAA...oh well I guess scouts see things differently than I do.

Yea Asik's per 36 stats are off the charts. It seems like he'll be a great for any low round pick.

Re: OT: Fantasy Sleepers
J.R Smith.
With defensive attention surrounding Melo, Stoudemire and Chandler down low? Both Felton and Kidd are going to find J.R Smith not only getting wet from 3 but also slashing to the basket. J.R Smith will earn a lot of minutes this season, and could be one heck of a 2G in regards to fantasy numbers.
I also consider Raymond Felton a sleeper. He could become a top 5 fantasy PG this season. Without question. He's never once had this many offensive weapons surrounding him thus far through his career in J.R Smith catching fire, Melo dominating the wings, Stoudemire playing hard, Novak from beyond the arc, Brewer can slash to the hole, Kidd can hit the open shot, Chandler is a GREAT finisher down low, Shumpert can also score etc, etc.
Raymond Felton is going to put up 10+ assists per night.

Re: OT: Fantasy Sleepers
Good to get some insight from the knicks side! I am on the same side with you about JR smith, I'm sure he'll impress many with his increase PT and lack of coverage. However, I think most fantasy teams have picked up on that and drafted him accordingly. Maybe not so much of a best kept secret.
However, Novak seems to me like a great pick up for those wanting to boost efficiency numbers and 3 pointer categories. As you said, teams will give more focus on your frontcourt than back, theoretically freeing up spot up shooters like Novak.

Re: OT: Fantasy Sleepers
I have two spots to fill between Jonas Val, Alec Burks, CJ Miles, Jae Crowder. I was thinking PJIII but I'm not thinking he'll get enough minutes as a rookie and playing behind KD
I'm pretty even at all positions so these are pretty much just extras/whatever for me.
I'm leaning torwards Jonas V and CJ? But for some reason I think Burks will break out this year

I'd go JV and Burks. I like the upside.

I grabbed Felton. Many people still think he's gonna be the fat portland felton but I believe he's going to go back to his play when he was on the Knicks previously.

Not even close. This is where your Knicks homerism is coming on strong.

He's not going to average 10 Assists/game, especially since D'Antoni's not here anymore. However, I do think people are sleeping on him, and I think he'll get around the ballpark of 7 to 8 Assists. He has added value in Yahoo leagues, where he has Shooting Guard eligibility. I'd peg him as 5th/6th round value.

Buy high on the Timberwolves this season. They have a great playoff schedule.

Hickson and Vasquez are a couple I like as far as people who are typically available in the last round, at least for now.

Here's a few I love:
Jeff Green - Remember Jeff Green? On this new look Boston team he's gonna get some good burn at sf/pf and he can produce. Ranked hilariously low on Yahoo.
Gerald Green
Jonas Valanciunas
