Is Goran Dragic the Next Star In Phoenix?

Post#1 » by Kerrsed » Fri Oct 19, 2012 1:59 am

Ok guys, Hoopsworld has a great article on Draic up on their site. Usually i would copy/paste the entire thing because i know we have some people that cant be bothered clicking on the link and reading it there, but besides the written article, it also has a small video interview with him. Its a great read and i suggest you all take a look at it! :D

Great read and interview. Of course in time the season will tell, but boy I gotta say from what I've seen from his Houston days and now the preseason games on the Suns, he is really good.

I can't wait for the season to start. I think the Suns are going to surprise some people, this has to be the most excited I have been about a season in a long time.

This new team is a breath of fresh air. I'm excited. This is exactly what this franchise and the fans needs.

See, this is what i have been talking about for the past few years with all the we need to trade/get rid of Nash talk. Yeah, most likely will will end up sucking for the next few years, but i am excited again to watch some young players develop and grow in this league. Remember when we first got Marion and Amare and JJ, and how exciting it was to watch the strides they made improving season after season? Thats what i see us watching again. It feels great. Im stoked about Suns basketball once again like i havent been in a long time, and it feels good!

Having a young point guard who is athletic and relentless, attacking the basket and opposing players on defense at will. Having a #2 pick who many many people believed had the game to be the #1 pick come play for us with what seems to be a bit of a chip on his shoulder. Having a #3 pick who was looked at as being a future great SG, but just didnt fit in with his former team, thus not reaching his full potential.

Its going to be a great season. We might not win a whole hell of alot of games, but its going to be alot of fun to watch and follow. :D

Dragic will do well....confidence is everything....remember Joe Johnson before he got it together?...if Beas and Wes feel solid, then watch out!!!

It will be fun to see these guys evolve....
Pazienza....pazienza...pazienza....and before you know it, we're celebrating in "Suns City" baby....

Honestly, no. Dragic will be the Conley, Lin, Lowry type - not elite, but solid and consistent.

I compare Dragic to Tony Parker. I think Goran can be as good as Parker has been for SA.

I agree with this comparison, but believe Dragic has superior defensive skills and might have better court vision as well.

Dragic runs the team very well but he's still a screen magnet on D.

dragic can be very, very good - but first he has to show it and prove it..

i like the team alot, but i think you´re doing goran no favor by letting him take over
and run the whole offense. imo he is still developing and needs player like gortat, scola
and o´neal. i don´t like it to read something like: " We’re trying to play fast and I just want to involve all of my players, try to be dangerous for both baskets and assists"

it´s too early to talk about my players..

but, like kerrsed said, i am excited about the upcoming season..

Props to the great one

Sarver deserves some credit on this one. Imagine we would've went with Ray Felton instead of Goran, I don't know if I would be excited as I am now.

And he has a 3pt shot, huge for a guard in PNR situations.

I think Lowry is in a different category than those 2, and I think Dragic has the tools to be an extremely consistent starter and possibly a top 10-12 PG.

I've been saying almost this same exact thing for a while now. Regardless of the outcome, I think this will be a fun season to watch. Is it Opening Night yet???

Still weird that we unloaded him, the story never really came out, and then all was forgiven and we bought him back.
I loved the guy then and now, but still somewhat confused by it all

NBA 2k13 sure as hell seems to think he will. He always averages 16/10ast/5rebs and occasionally makes the all star team in any mode lol.

I play amazing with him on 2K13, somehow I end up with at least 15 assists a game
