What the hell are you talking about. Jesus. It's one damn preseason game. I didn't hear you saying this type of nonsense when they won their first three. Get off the ledge a bit.

well then you didnt read the game threads very closely.

and who said anything about the ledge. as i said we are too good not to win a ton of games. we will be very good and in the playoffs as a high seed. i just dont see this team overachieving or making any real noise with avery and without an on floor leader who shows passion

preseason. and last season.

even if they are just slacking cause its preseason, that make me upset as well. the games dont count, doesnt mean you shouldnt be competitive.

i've given avery and dwill a pass. but they just dont seem like leaders to me. hope im wrong.

Just take a deep breath, everything will be fine...a lot preparation will go into the next two weeks...a lot of time between now and the season opener for the Nets to retool, gel and start to get comfortable with one another...this thing won't happen over night, lets just not be the all or none type skeptic...too early for that type of mentality...

i dont know where you are getting the "all or none" thing from. it certainly isnt none. we have the talent. i think we will gel and the bench looks great.

but leaderless teams simply dont overachieve. and i dont see a leader from the very top on down.

To be honest, aside from the turnovers, the first string offense was fine. Against lesser defensive teams, it would have been fine. BUT...against Boston like that when they are clicking...no go.

I think the early lead and the turnovers left a sour taste on everyone's mouth...BUT, if you re-watch (and maybe I need to do it too, but going off memory here)....how many open shots did Crash brick in the early stretch of the game?

They basically rotated on everyone and left Crash wide open downtown. If that was anyone else, those would have been great quality shots. Clean up the turnovers (and for the love of god get the ball to Brook in the post), and the turnout would have been much better.

I haven't had a chance to watch the game yet, but it's DVR'd. I will need to go back and watch to see why everyone is up in arms about this particular game. Is anyone really expecting them to make a serious run at a title?

I expect good things from the Nets this season, but, realistically, a jump to elite status is an off based expectation in my opinion. See- I can appreciate coaches like Doc Rivers who finds ways to make bad shooters beat you. If Crash was throwing up bricks for most of the game- I tend to wonder if that was the game plan going in for the Celtics.

All in all from what I watched the other night against Boston and Wash, this team has an outstanding opportunity to compete in the East, but it's going to have to be a collective effort from all parties. It's too early to fret.
OKC Thunder fan, too.

When the Miami Heat initially came together they were instantly so good that they started off 9-8. Teams with new pieces need time. /rant

wallace missed 2 first quarter three pointers.

we were just as bad, if not worse in the second half then in the first

defense and effort were much bigger issues then offensive chemistry. boston got easy looks and layups all game long

.

wallace took 6 shots. and was 1-3 from deep. he was hardly "chucking up bricks" for most of the game. he missed 2 open 3's in the first qtr, then hit an open one late in the 2nd. he isnt a bad 3 point shooter and was the least of our issues last night
