I guess it's just potential minutes that you lose out on and have to give to someone else, but yeah, I see your point.

3si picked Rodney Stuckey, but Rodney Stuckey was picked by ham about 40 picks earlier.

This isn't the way I look at it in a roto league at all.

For instance, I took Rubio, who won't be back until sometime in December. I don't look at this as losing games from Rubio. I look at it like this: instead of 82 games out of Rubio, I get 60 games out of Rubio plus 22 games out of Jason Kidd/Jarrett Jack. Also, what Woody said about opportunity cost. For me, taking injury prone guys makes much more sense in a roto format.

Sorry about that. My internet was super spotty. I did manage to PM Floppy, but my email just wouldn't load for some reason. Since BWW didn't pick until the following morning, no harm no foul :dontknow:
The list I sent had Jeff Green at number 1 and Jack at number 2, and then I flipped once I was on the clock. That being said, I may entertain a Jeff Green for Jarrett Jack swap if 3si is interested.

Floppy's done with his lineup and he's now taking flyers at players whom he thinks might be good. No big deal.

Just found it odd: I didn't think Brian Roberts was on ANYONES' radars...(besides mine)

I didn't even know Brain played in the NBA.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

I agree with that. You won't lose a weekly matchup because it happened when Rubio was out.

The trick is to evaluate how many games they'll be out, and how good the combination of them and their backup will actually be, and whether it was worth the draft cost.

Yeah, he'll probably do nothing. But Neither Vasquez or Rivers are very good, so Roberts could get opportunity. So far in preseason he's shined when getting minutes. I think there is a small chance he'll greatly exceed his draft spot and a huge chance I'll drop him in a month.

Yeah, who knew Stick (Brian Roberts) was actually an NBA player.

Oh come on now. We all know that superstardom in the preseason leads to superstardom in the regular season.

in seriousness though, I think he could be that guy no one has heard of that will come out of nowhere and become Mr. Relevant this year.

Ha! That'd be nice, but my last name isn't Roberts. Stick's is though.

In other news, I emailed TK hours ago that it was his pick, but no reply. I also emailed Sabonis to send me a 2 man list. No reply. If anyone else wants to try their luck emailing them when I hit the sack in an hour. Go for it. I have an early morning race: 5K (yeah, too lazy for the half marathon this time)

a full 24 hours without a pick being made? I think that's a first for me since I've been around.

That said, I'm going to be inactive for most of the next 24-48 hours. I'll still make my picks from my phone...but I'm going to have to make one giant list :D . At this rate, maybe I won't even pick until Monday anyways.

I did try to pick last night, but the website was not working. Just kept timing out.
