That's right, tonight's Warriors/Blazers game was on NBA TV for those who aren't in those local markets. Lillard is making me proud. :D

He didn't shoot great tonight, but the way he plays is impressive. Easily would of had 10+ assists if guys were hitting their shots. He is proving to be a really good playmaker, which is fantastic since a lot of people unfairly labelled him as a score first and score only PG.

7 asts and 1 TO very impressive for a rookie PG. Maybe even more so being preseason with all the disjointed lineups/rotations and no chemistry.

Am I the only one that think Rivers won't ever be a PG?

I think NOLA should not have drafted him to play as a PG. He is the definition of a SG.
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

Everyone talked about him being really raw, but I've seen alot of veteran like moves, great defensive presence and rebounding ability (all you can ask from a rookie center). Even if it's preseason, but the Pistons really hit the jackpot this time, he's a legit Monroe counterpart with alot of space for improvement ( work on those FT's).

I agree. People were bashing the kid even before he had the chance to prove himself in the league. So far he looks like a massive steal for Detroit. Perfect fit for Monroe.

It's unbelievable how DET got 3 very good prospects basically drafting the leftovers (I am saying that in a good way).

In 2010 Monroe falls because teams were suspicious about his lack of athleticism. GS gets Udoh instead of him and DET ends up with the 1st steal.
Knight was supposed to be draft by Toronto with the 5th pick. Cleveland reaches TT, Toronto gets JV and DET ends up with Knight with the 8th pick.
The same **** happens in 2012 and they get Drummond with the 9th pick. Freaking unbelievable.

believe you me, us piston fan still don't believe it. it was funny as leading up to the draft, we all wanted these players but all "knew" slim to no chance we get them. can't wait til next year.lol 8-)

I watched the NYK feed and loved their commentators. Same with Detroit. I like commentators who can appreciate the other team's talent and doesnt need to pander so much to the home team.

I was thinking that Knicks rookie was pretty impressive, but then I found out he's like 30 years old already.

I don't remember that label.

He was called an "unselfish scoring PG", which still kind of seems like his MO, but with better vision than I anticipated. The more familiar he gets with his teammates, the more often he can get them easy buckets.

I would sooner trust Anthony Davis being my point guard than Austin Rivers.

Hey,

So has Jonas exceeded your expectations? Also, do you still think Meyers will have a better rookie year? Career?

I only saw the first two games (was working at night the last two). Jonas has played better than I thought, because his feel for the game/court awareness looked a lot better than what I've seen out of him in Europe or the Olympics. If he keeps that up once the regular season starts he will outperform my expectations and become a starting center somewhere between Varejao and Gortat IMO. However it's hard to make any judgments based on preseason. Awareness wise he looks like a completely different player than he did in his last games that mattered (in the Olympics and Rytas' end to the season), and players make a big turnaround like that, especially in preseason, is somewhat of a red flag for trusting what you see. Sort of like how Deandre Jordan if you went by preseason, has a post game makes him look like Bynum. Show me that in the real games and I'll believe, Deandre

I believe Meyers will have the better rookie season and career pretty easily, still

Austin Rivers was overhyped. He is not as good as people thought he was. Don't understand the pick for the Hornets.
