He was hyped because of his "swag". He's got a Kobe-like aura around him and he's also a 2-guard. I wasn't on the Rivers bandwagon although a lot of people were. This is the same as picking Jimmer Fredette.

Why would JV highlights include getting dunked on? That's like highlights showing Drummonds missing freethrows. Btw, I don't think he was dunked on, late rotation + no real attempt to block.

good point, i think its cuz you show a highlight of him supposedly shutting down Amare. and he did get dunked on either way you put it

If there's any complaint I have for Nando de Colo's game it's that he's so inconsistent. One game he'll look like Mini Manu, the next he looks like a D Leaguer.

He should be given time before facing harsh judgement, BUT a lot of people thought it was a terrible pick as soon as it happened. He is not a point guard, and he was not worthy of the 10th pick when drafting for any position.

Austin Rivers is going to be labelled a bust because it was a really bad pick from the start and almost everyone knew it. It will be up to him to prove people wrong but there's no reason to assume he can at this time, because he's not a point guard and not a top 10 talent (not that drafts ever work out having the top 10 picks end up the top 10 best). It's not his fault he was picked when he was picked but he has a lot of work to do for anyone to consider him worthy of it, especially as a PG.

Drummond looks NBA ready actually. It will be interesting to see how the Pistons bring him along, either start him with Monroe where can sink or swim or keep him with the 2nd unit so that he can learn on the job training at an easier pace.

Finally got to see MKG and Jonas V. MKG looked good on defense but Coach Dunlap was dicking around with rotations too much. If his stint at UK is any indication, MKG is a guy that makes his impact filling the stat sheet over the duration of the game, definitely not a Vinny Johnson instant offense guy.

Jonas looks legit. He just needs to learn the American nuances of the NBA game and he's set.

The Bobcats are getting no rhythm because of constant substitutions. Hopefully Dunlap is doing this just for preseason and will play MKG 35 minutes a night. He is more than capable

8 pts and 7 rebs in 15 min. He had 9 pts and 8 rebs in 18 min last game at MIA.

Problem is it seems the better he plays, the more Frank reduces his PT.

PER 36 he'd be avg 17/15 the last 2 games. He needs to be starting and playing at least 25-30 mpg. Its getting to be a joke at this point with our dunce coach.

I'm happy for him considering how he slipped in the draft and had a "rough" [not dominant] year at UConn. It's really amazing that he "struggled" in college and is essentially dominating in the pros... plus you cannot compare college guys to even preseason NBA ball.

The only concern with him is that big bodies will defend him the right way and he won't be so prolific around the basket unless he develops a jumper. He should remain a good hustle rebounder though.

His size is already his advantage. He’s as big and bigger then most his athleticism is what makes the difference.
