The only big ? we still have right now is backup PG.

Blake - awful
Duhon - slightly better at defense, still awful
Morris - not NBA ready
Goudelock - not a PG

Fisher would be better than any of these scrubs, and that's more of a indictment on our backups than a praise of Derek.

Fisher off the bench as a player/coach would be ideal.

As long as we don't have to see him getting torched by
Luke Ridnour or Sebastian Telfair for 30 minutes a game.
10-15 will be manageable.

When you have Nash and Bryant in the back court, a guy like Fisher is not going to be receiving 30 minutes of playing time.

I'd much rather have Blake over Fisher or Duhon. And I am not exactly Blake's #1 fan.

I'd rather continue with the Goudelock experiment at point guard. LoL

I had high hopes for Blake when he got here but now with what he has done these past two years,
I wish we would of gave that 16 million to Shannon Brown instead.

Oh, naturally. We all did. The consensus was when he was signed this guy had a high BBIQ and an outside shot -- perfect triangle PG, like Fisher. And perhaps our assessment would be different if he were only getting $2-3m a year instead of $4m. But one thing I won't ever knock Blake for is the guy really does scrap on every play.

So many people around here love to beat on our bench when they don't go out and play hard enough. Then Blake throws up a catch-and-shoot 3 in Game 2 against OKC, it rolls out, and then he gets death threats. I mean seriously?

Overall though, if you're talking about putting the best product you can out on the floor while keeping your best assets, then Blake is far more of a keeper than Duhon or either of our 2-year guards. It would be nice to see Goude get some more burn at the 1 tonight though. We'll just have to see. I say he probably gets cut.
