After closing out an incredible series against your Grizzlies, the Los Angeles Clippers came out victorious. That didn't stop us. We got stronger, we got better - we got a full squad now.

Key Matchups

Randolph and Griffin

Dunking vs. post ups, jumpers vs. posters. Flair vs. Fire, the match-up of all match-ups. This will determine if we win or not, if Memphis CAN win. Controlling the young gun Blake Griffin will be challenging. On the flip side, can Griffin handle the fundamentals of Zach Randolph? We'll see.

if this is the game thread you should add date and time - a lot of people on here are located in other time zones and it helps to know what time the game is and if it is on TV or not, etc. I'm assuming this is game1 of regular season?

Alot of the bench players that gave us trouble in the playoff series - Nick Young, Reggie Evans, OJ Mayo - have moved on to other teams. Hopefully the Grizz can open up the season with a W on the road.

lol @ OJ Mayo. Poor guy took such a bad rap for that series. He actually defended Paul really well. Rudy Gay lost the Clippers series for us, and there is no way around it. But, he's still here and apparently better than ever. (at least according to the hype train)

Oj Mayo was a turnover/brick waiting to happen against the Clippers. We needed scoring punch from the bench and Mayo did not deliver. At least this time, we have more shooters. As much as you do not want to admit it, we cannot be a title contender without Rudy Gay playing at a high level. The Clippers might be easy considering their roster changes, but OKC and LAL is a whole new level. We need Gay if we want to beat them.

I was halfway kidding about OJ, but he was a bench player that caused us trouble in the series. Not really his fault though; Hollins played him as the back up PG consistently for the first time all season . . . and he has to line up against CP3. Easy enough to see why he would struggle, and did he ever struggle.

Playing OJ at the PG position did disrupt his game all kinds of ways during the playoffs. It was unfortunate as the Grizz needed his production, but fell short. Anyways, new season, new players, new challenges, Time to beat the Clips.

Go Grizz!
