Was a great opening, my girl is addicted to that show! Unfortunately they always tease with ultra-violent season debuts.

Soon enough it will be about pregnancy, a lost member of the group and emotional BS.

More zombies dammit!

Walking Dead is really good. I hope this season is more like Season 1 where every episode was thrilling and action packed, and less like Season 2 where half the episodes were filler/Carl in bedrest/"SOPHIA!" snoozefests.

It's a shame Game of Thrones is only 10 episodes a season before you have to wait like 9 months for the next season. :(

For comedies, The League might be the funniest show on TV. And even though The Office has been in decline lately, this season(the final)has been pretty funny so far and yesterday's episode didn't disappoint.

Weird, I'm already over Walking Dead to be quite honest. Season one was great, but since then it seems like the show has just been plodding along with a really weak plot and not much happening at all.

The season 3 opener was much of the same. Some zombie killing and a prison encounter that sets up the third group of antagonists.

Given the lack of resources in a prison, perhaps this season sets us up for more of the existential struggle that you expect considering a post apocalyptic environment such as this one.

I still feel like things have been coming far too easy for them, and the drama between the different characters seems way too telenovela for me.

Jannero Pargo (10/22/79), should he be on the opening day roster, will be our only player born in the 1970s. Okafor and Nene were born 15 days apart in 1982.

any RealGMers going to 6 Flags tonight?

Happy not to have become a Darwin award recipient after deciding to
take down a tree close to my house on Saturday. Managed to do it
without falling off any ladders or having the tree destroy anything
upon landing. Still kind of scary process. Good thing I'm not especially
afraid of heights.

Kudos to you for having the guts to take down a tree. I don't hate ladders -- I hate the idea of falling off of them. Put this one in the category of price gouging, I guess:

Back in July when the huge wind/rain storm blew through, a big oak in front of my house cracked. Half the tree fell across the street (thankfully, not on the house). VDOT dragged it out of the street and I got quotes to remove the fallen part and take down what was left. I got prices ranging from $4300 on the low end to $5500 on the high end. A year earlier, I had 6 trees taken down and some additional trimming work done for...$1500.

I did it myself for the most part. Paid a guy with a BIG chainsaw $300 to do the part that was too big for my tools.

pretty rapid inflation - 300% in about a year.

I've still got work to do with other trees including one quite
large Tulip tree. Might contract that one out.

at Six Flags last night the autograph sessions were over and Jacqui and I
went over to ride the Superman/Man of Steel coster. We had just loaded into
cars when several Wizards, Wall, Okafor, Martin and Steve Gray came escorted
up the exit ramp to ride. So after we rode we walked right past them while exiting.

I'm still trying to figure out how Okafor or even Martin fit inside one of
those cars. I'm under 6' and I don't fit by all that much.

Apparently the 6 Flags staff didn't let Okafor ride. http://www.bulletsforever.com/2012/10/2 ... erman-ride

Anyone else having a love/hate relationship with Homeland? Too-many manufactured contrivances that ruin all the other great things about the show.

One strange thing i have noticed over the years is the relatively high intelligence level of posters on the message boards of bad NBA teams. No idea of the reasons behind it.

Battling flooding in my house along with local help. Catching the outer bands of this Sandy storm. Pretty crazy, happy I'm not around the center of that thing.

Reminds me why I haven't lived on the ground in a few decades.

Just spoke with a buddy who was at a private, small event with Magic Johnson last night. There was a Q&A and my friend asked:

"If you could start a team with one player in their prime -- any era -- who would it be?"

Magic's answer:

Larry Bird. Boiled down to the fact that he could do simply everything and made everyone better as a result.

Does Ji only care about snow or all major weather events? It looks like the storm might be a big one.

It's estimated that Frankenstorm will enlarge the Chesapeake Bay by over one million square miles, creating a vast inland sea and a lot of new waterfront property. Time to get that boat out of storage.
