This claim made me giggle a bit. The Jays have now had three of the Angels' starting catchers from about 2006 to 2011: Mike Napoli, Jeff Mathis, and Bobby Wilson... and of course the only good hitter of the group is the one the Jays traded away immediately upon acquiring.

Anyway, I assume he's just a backup-backup-backup catcher. A guy with some major league experience but is bad enough to stash in the minors, only to use in case of injuries, or TDA doesn't heal very quickly, or TDA and/or JPA are traded.

Chad Beck was DFA'd to make room for Wilson on the 40 man roster.

That other thread has a misleading title, and I bet many won't even see it posted as no one is interested in Laffey Hill or Korecky "outrighted" anymore
