After years of mediocrity NY fans are so quick to start complaining about how they have the worst roster on the planet and the worst stars in Melo and Amare.
I think this season's roster is probably the most talented in recent years even if Amare misses a few games this season, why not be optimistic instead of all this doom and gloom?

it's probably a combination of things. losing lin for nothing, miami virtually cementing themselves as the best team in the east, the lakers getting dwight. i mean the team cleared space to take the easy way to a championship, and we didn't end up with a transcendental talent in james or howard. at least for me, its about those teams and those undeserving fans getting a championships. we've been waiting a long time and now we've got to wait some more. next season it'll be 40 years. that **** sucks.

Cool. No one says you don't have a "right" to whine and cry about what happens to the Knicks and various other professional sports teams. Good for you. It's just that people who have better things to worry about in life have the right to think you're a loser and a clown for being so crappy about it. Yea, I watch the Knicks more than I watch anything else on TV. I love basketball. I love being a New Yorker. I'm in awe of the Garden and the lights in the big city. I'm drawn to NY's team. It's fun. But that's about it. I post on this board. I jump in the conversations and enjoy talk about the game. I like to get the news, the gossip, the reaction after a game. But when motherf*ckers start wishing harm on players they don't even know on a personal level, when people start cursing management, acting as if they'd do a better job than someone like Donnie Walsh or Glen Grunwald have done... and feed into twisted media hype, taking the bait from guys like Isola and Berman who profit from overly emotional sports dweebs who take this crap too seriously ... showing their feminine side over a damn basketball team... I laugh at you and feel terrible for you all at the same time.

I used to get like that when I was a child, but with age, I gained wisdom. I realized it's not that serious. I also realize that these dudes who play ball professionally and who pull strings for these teams have lives of their own... I realize that they're just people like we are. From Grunwald to Melo. They're just every day dudes, and if and when they come across all the banter you find on websites like RealGM, they look at you like you're a sucker. Cause you are. You and many others like you... you come off like a bunch of punks who may or may not know the game of basketball, but more than anything don't seem to have a solid grasp on reality.

Y'all hate Amar'e? An entire thread just to spew hatred at Amar'e Stoudemire? I'd rather root for someone like Eddy Curry to succeed in this world over chumps like the ones we see here in this thread who care about no one but themselves, to the point that something as simple as an injury to a player on the Knicks can make them act so ill. No one is taking Amare unless you package Shumpert and a chit load of draft picks with it, and we don't have picks

Nah we just have to wait for the next team reset. I've never been so anxious to clean house before. I want Shumpert and that's it. I don't want to see any familiar faces a few years from now. Experiment failed. But our owner is a fool.

NBA TV doctor said Amare could be healed up by the season opener and play.

What are you ranting about dude? There's nothing wrong with being angry over a team you follow passionately. IT's called being a die-hard fan. You choose to follow the team differently. Good for you. It doesn't mean anyone else is weird or wrong for following it another way.

Relax, it's not like he is getting microfracture surgery.. Amare is in great shape and is hungry, its not to say we wont have bumps as far as chemistry with all the new faces, but amare is primed for a solid year.. He is very low on my concern list.. All i ask is he steps up his effort on D, everywhere else he will be fine.

This team is built for 50+ wins and a second round birth at the very least, anything less falls on the coach.

Full Strength

Chandler/Camby
Amare/(Melo)/Sheed, Cope, (Novak), KT
Melo/Novak/Brewer
Shumpert/JR/Brewer/White
Felton/Kidd/Prig

This team is crazy deep.. even if you are missing say felton, amare, and shump on a given night (3 of our top players), you can still throw something like this out there:

Chandler/Camby
Melo
Brewer/Novak
JR/
Kidd/Prig
etc

In reality, this team all things considered equal is not as good as Miami/okc/LA, but neither is anyone else.. You just gotta worry about your own team, get to the playoffs, and try and surprise people.. you never know what can happen by then (injuries, hot teams, cold teams, etc etc)

this team is built for 1992

with so many old players / injurry prone

no point finishing 7th or 8th as 1st round exit

This is a very good article and sheds some light on this issue. IMO it also makes more sense because shortly after the Melo trade we saw Amar'e could still score in bunches. The difference in Stat's production with/without Chandler is HUGE.

STAT off the bench > STAT off the team! Us knicks fans complain about consistency but at the same time want to stir things up by trading away our best pieces. Smh

I don't think a lot of Knick fans "hate" Stoudemire. It's just that after signing him , the following moves have really cut into his effectiveness. He's just not a good fit with Melo and Chandler in the frontcourt. He has little space to operate on offense, which is his biggest strength. Since most Knick fans see Melo as the more complete player and Tyson a fan favorite already ...they feel like Stat is the odd man out. Realistically of course this won't happen as his contract is uninsured and pretty big.

Nobodies always healthy in the NBA.Were just overreacting because of that massive injury streak last year.Alot of teams have main guys who are injured.Woodson needs to bring Amare off the bench, and let him get short reps in.Thats the only option that makes real sense right now.

Atlanta would laugh would laugh their arses off to this proposal. You may throw 10 first round picks to that deal and they would still probably say no.

Return to New York Knicks
