Not pre-season, real season. Bell just needs to go away!

He won't be playing. Maybe the Jazz can trade him to an eastern team with a trade exception along with a protected second for a Peter Fehse like draft right.

So it sounds like neither side has budged on the buyout so there is nothing there. Now they are looking for someone to take him for nothing. If they can't do that then what. Total botch.

Then he sits out for a year at age 36.

So far it doesn't seem to be a distraction for the team. Although, it is too bad we are wasting a roster spot on him instead of someone who might actually contribute. Oh well.

Yeah for sure it's a bummer that spot is just going to waste.

Bell's agent now says he was just asked if they were still negotiating a buyout and he said no. Everything else in that report is speculation. No trade talks as far as Bell's agent knows. But the discouraging thing is no buyout talks going on either.

Here's where I think this is:

- Raja isn't about to accept a buyout without a contract offer from another team on the table. There's no reason for him to throw away guaranteed money.

- The Jazz are content to hold on to him in the hopes that some team will be desperate enough to take him at some point this year, saving them some $$$ even if they don't get an asset back.

- At any point the Jazz can waive Bell to make room for someone else.

What's unclear to me is if the NBPA can file some sort of grievance with the league over the Jazz keeping Bell on the roster but essentially locking him out of the team.

Would you guys accept Marshon Brooks for him straight up?

With 30 teams in the mix, and GMs like Kahn still out there wandering the halls of team offices with single digit IQs propelling them from their window views to the water cooler and back, there will probably be an opportunity to move Bell at some point this season for a nominal asset. KOC and Lindsey will get the job done.

Raja Bell will provide a veteran presence and outside shooting that a team like Brooklyn desperately needs.
