The injury aftermath:

Fred Davis torn Achilles, out for year. Replaced by Chris Cooley, who might last 3 quarters before getting hurt again.

MJD out 2-4 weeks with foot injury that may or may not be a Lisfranc. If it is he's out for season.

Blaine Gabbert torn labrum in left shoulder. I can't see him playing vs. GB but long-term he can play with it. Chad Henne gets his last shot to prove he can start in the NFL. Good luck with that.

Nate Burleson broken leg, out for year. He has played his last snap in Detroit even though he was more effective than most people realize.

Charles Woodson broken collarbone, out 4-6 weeks. No chance he is back earlier than 4 weeks and the way he plays he's stupid to rush it. I've broken my clavicle, it's not one you can hurry back from and the tendons around it need a week or two to get back into form after the 4-6 weeks.

Polamalu and Marcus Gilbert both ruled out for Week 8 already by Mike Tomlin.

Maritimer wrote:Your point is well taken. My point is simply that many problems offensively could be solved by having a more balanced attack. They lead the league in passing attempts, and are 2nd in terms of percentage of snaps that are passing plays (over 66%; New Orleans is first with an ungodly 70%). Usually the argument for an imbalance like this is the lack of a viable running game (i.e. Green Bay last year), but Leshoure has shown he's good enough to carry a reasonably heavy load. If teams actually felt that they had to put men in the box, things would open up for the screen game, play action, etc, etc (I'm stating the obvious, I know).

Good points, but balance isn't winning football, balance is just a connotation that implies fairness to people that need some kind of feeling of equity to make them happy for some reason. The name of the game is run the plays that give you the best chance to win, and that's a highly complicated question to answer that can't in any situation be solved by saying a team should be more balanced in general.

Really feel bad for Washington. With the way RG3 has been playing a fully healthy Redskins team would tear **** up.

He leads the league in completion percentage (70.1%) and yards per attempt (8.5) despite not having one WR that would ever see the field in Atlanta or Green Bay and one of the worst offensive lines this side of Arizona. He's thrown fewer INTs than every other regular starting QB (tied w/ Brady, Gabbert & Big Ben at 3). Oh yeah, he also ranks 12th in the league in rushing, averaging 7.3 YPC and scoring 6 touchdowns. Exactly how is talk of MVP "hype"? At worst he's 5th in voting right now. At worst.

+1. I disagree on the OL though, they've actually been real solid this year. Trent Williams is finally living up to that 4th overall pick status, dude has balled and might be the best LT in the league. But RG3's scrambling ability does make them look a lot better.

I'm not saying he is the MVP, but right now he's in consideration. We'll see if it lasts the season, but I think his D will let him down and cost us more games as the season progresses.

Sucks that Lee got hurt. I hate the Cowboys but never want to see anybody get injured. Lee is a baller. Tough injury for Dallas.
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

Trent Williams might be the best LT in the league?

He's not even the best LT in his division.

You gotta give the man credit when its due. RG3 is playing like he's been in the league for years now, his level of comfort and knowledge is unrivaled to any rookie QB that I've seen in last 5-6 years (yes that includes Cam Newton). If the Redkins didn't get battered with injuries early in the season, he would have probably had this team sitting at the top of the division. Matt Ryan should get more credit and media hype though, no doubt about it.

1) You're bumping a thread that's two weeks old.

2) Jason Campbell has that effect on teams. Don't jump the gun like that.
