Sadly, I think that Marcum expressing interest in returning to Toronto stems at least partially from the expectation that he's not going to get the sort of money and years he'd have expected a year ago, thanks to his elbow issues. Sucks, because he was probably one healthy year away from getting a long-term deal at pretty big money from someone.

I read on other message boards Marcum was one to always stay out late and party.. I have no idea if that's legit or not..

If that's true then so what. He performed on the field for the most part. AA is not in any position to be the moral police at this point, he needs results and we need pitching and if Marcum really wants to come back, I'm sure he would at a reasonable price. This pitching staff is in shambles and if Marcum is given a clean bill of health then its a no-brainer.

i would look at both edwin or haren over marcum...both 30+ start guys for their entire careers, we need a consistent rotation since i have no faith in AA getting us anything near an ace
