That squad would have DESTROYED the current Wizards training camp roster in a 7 game series.
4-0 sweep. Easily.
As far as the look, just like DC at the time, it was SIMPLE, AFFORDABLE & EFFECTIVE.

My how times have changed for the worse. Both DC and the Wizards. It all sucks now.

C'mon, the beat is great and the video is a lot of fun, but that was a 21-61 squad . . . they were Mr. Softie on the court and they sucked. Not just Webber, Howard, Cheaney, but when you are talking soft you also have Rex Chapman, Kevin Duckworth, and Don McLean . . . not to mention the defense of Gheorghe Muresan and Scott Skiles. If the current squad ever gets it's starters back I hope to hell it's better than that.

Now if you want to go back to the BALTIMORE Bullets of 69, with Earl "Black Jesus" Monroe, Gus "Honeycombs" Johnson, Jack "Mr. Sweat Marks" Marin, and a big butt rookie named Wes Unseld . . . those were the days, lol. And Baltimore has always been grungier and more "real" than DC although I was born in Alexandria and grew up bleeding burgundy and gold like the rest of the town.

Did you go to TC?
Did you know Tracy?
Did you know he got arrested again?
This time for some reason it was not all over the local news.
Perhaps everyone has forgotten about him by now.

No, we were Navy so we kept moving around, then when I hit middle school, we moved to Montgomery County. Have had a brother or sister at 5 different Montgomery County high schools plus 3 in Fairfax but I was lucky enough to be bussed into Walt Whitman and graduated in 77 -- and we sucked at all the big name sports then. Heck, Jeff Kemp was supposed to come to our school but he took one look at our O-line and transferred to Churchill to play with Brian Holloway (sic -- working from memory here). Later moved back to Alexandria for around 10 years but am now down in South Florida.

I agree with most of what you said above, just look at my user name if you want proof.
But the video is still great. Good times. We had no idea how good we had it back then.
Had I known what little time both the team and the arena had left, I would have made it a point to attend more home games. :(
