i had changed my shot to preset #10 when i first created my player. maybe i need to tinker around with other jumpshots and find one that works for me.

A lot fo people seem to like Ray Allen's which you can buy for like 25 tokens or whatever.

Yep, I did so. Although I have to say that I only get about 70% of my releases right, I still occasionally hold the button too long or release it too fast. I'm thinking about buying a faster release as well, it would work just great for my guy as a three point shooter.

I had a 19 points, 12 rebounds, 15 assists and 3 blocks game, yet we still ended up 1 short against the Clippers. Time to extend the series to a seventh game. Although it doesn't seem possible that I will be able to take this Phoenix team past the first round.

so when you guys shoot jumpers are you using x-button or shot stick?

3-for-13 again last night, with 9pts and 12 assists. but at least we blew out the mavs, who are now 4-16. we beat the lakers last week by 40.

i'm using an arcade style joystick, so I've only got buttons for shooting.

I use the x button. Never quite learned with the shot stick. Fatlever are you taking more jump shots or layups and what are your stats? I'm not sure what your shooting problem.

i take some 3pt shots, if i am wide open. i am shooting a respectable 40% from 3pt. most of my misses are within 5 feet of the basket, which is where i take most of my shots. i think i am just trying to force things a bit much. that being said, i dont really get mad when i miss a shot around the rim with two defenders on my back. it just kills me though when i get a step on my defender and still miss down low. i really need to work on finishing around the rim. maybe part of the problem is i still havent decided whether or not to always use x-button or shot stick, so my shots are a mix of both.

today was a particularly frustrating game. vs the wizards they were letting me get in the paint at will. i had 21 assists including 11 in the first quarter (only 1 turnover). but my player was also 1-11 from the field and almost all of those misses were in the paint.

my stats are
shot inside 71
shot close 70
layups 70
mid range 75
3pt 66

overall fg% down to about 39% now.

I know what you mean, you get a clear path, looks like an easy layup, but the defender catches up and you somehow miss the layup.

increasing those numbers might improve things though. for layups, I've found to have more success to press the button earlier, like at the top of the key so he starts his motion then. :dontknow:

ive been putting all my SP points in the close, inside, layup and shot in traffic (which is still only 50).

i guess for now i will just enjoy being jason kidd w/out the awesome rebounding numbers.

I'm bored of my player now. After getting you-know-whatted by Miami in the first round, I'm taking a break, going in and making global changes to all ratings and then starting an association.

same, I've been playing XCOM a ton as well. Its dragged me away from 2k13.

We could make this thread a general video game thread.

I would love that that i am always playing something or looking forward to the next thing. that said i always come back to sports games so i will be playing 2k13 in the future.

xcom - enemy unknow, is a turn based squad strategy game.

earths invaded by aliens and you have to fight them. its an old school style game which has me hooked.

Ok. I tried. I really tried. Through season 1 of Association, I resisted the temptation to work any unrealistic trades, but it was literally like playing with last year's actual Bobcats. I think I won 1 game and routinely got blown out - sound familiar? It was as miserable to play virtually as it was to watch actually last year.

So - screw it. I signed Oden as starting C in the offseason, worked every trade imaginable to get both Shabazz and Zeller in the draft (and Brown from NC State as backup PG), and am rolling out Kemba, Shabazz, MKG, Zeller and Oden as my starting 5, with Brown, JR Smith, Ronnie Brewer, Perry Jones, and Bismack as my second unit. Season 2 has been much more fun

Ima call Cho now.

Anybody who wants to, take a look at my edits to the ratings so far and suggest changes. I've only edited teams from the 76ers to the Jazz (alphabetically). Haven't done the other teams or FAs yet. I've tried to make them more realistic. Once I'm finished, I'll be starting an association.

Copy into your 2k13 save folder. To get to that, search the string "%appdata" in the search bar in the start menu.

had my first triple double last night, 27 games into my rookie career. just call me kemba walker part 2.

13pgs, 11reb, 17ast, 1to, but on poor shooting %s

i followed that game but getting destroyed by derrick rose. he dropped 45 on me, compared to my 17/11ast, but with 6tos.

I've been very close, but I haven't been able to get a triple double yet. Closest I've been was a 15/15 with like seven or eight rebounds. I also had six steals and three blocks in the game if I remember correctly. I was up against DJ in Indiana for most of the game. He plays defense like a girl in the game too.

Only eight teams to go. This takes a surprisingly long time.
