I also checked the Knicks schedule and it seems like they have at least 20 games on ESPN/ABC/TNT. Why doesn't Houston get any love?

Well.....if it makes you feel any better as of this moment Houston isn't even getting love in Houston!

The CSN: Houston slapfight with local providers is quite irritating.

As for why more people outside of Houston don't want to see the Rockets....come on, dude! You and I both know that they'll be fun to watch, but they are not currently a team that is a ratings draw.

Best thing that could happen to Houston is to be wildly successful & off the radar, if you're talking about TV exposure. :)

I'm getting the feeling that Asik at 8M for the next three years will be seen as a value contract.

Lin overpaid is a definite maybe but I think Asik is not a overpay. Also their cap hits for us is 8.3 each for each of following 3 years

Anther thing if it was a $30 MILLION cap, which it is not, it then would be easy to dump it on a team looking for cap relief

I will bet my house that he is a Knicks troll.

Asik is worth the price
hard to find a 7 footer that play good interior defense
no offense?
that's why he is below 10M
if he has defense and offense then he's max
even offense-less DeAndre Jordan get 10M+ a year
just because he jumps few inches higher

Lin overpaid? are you kidding me?
sure he's no Steve Nash
not necessary help you win game
but the owner is making money from China and Taiwan

Yeah, you're right he's no Steve Nash. At this stage of his career, Lin is definitely a better player. Nash didn't actually start playing like an all-star until about five or six years into his career. And I'll guarantee you Lin's defense right now is easily superior to Nash's at all stages of Nash's career.

I see some comments being thrown around about Lin how he's a terrible defender. Sometimes I wonder if people are watching the same games as I am. Lin is one of the best help defenders at the point guard spot I've seen in years. Not only does he have great hands to pick up steals but he always knows where to be to put himself in those situations to pick pockets or at least disrupt the defense. You'll have people say that steals are not a good indication of defense, and that it actually may reflect bad defense because it implies you're playing the passing lanes too much, but whenever I've seen Lin make steals it's usually because he picks pockets, not because he gambled on a play.

His defense is pretty scrappy. His last game against Vazquez and Brian Roberts is a good example of that.

But still, the OKC preseason opener. I know Westbrook does that to a lot of people, but still...

Lin has looked pretty mediocre considering his contract. It was a bad signing in basketball terms... it was a business decision though.

No reason to defend Lin until he starts producing. It's the same story with the rookies who looked great in SL but fell off recently... well everyone except Terrence Jones.

I don't mind the Asik contract but it is hefty for a defensive guy on a team that will struggle offensively. I think it was too early to make the move. Let the rookies get PT... it will be a rough year.

Rough year?

Yeah, we may not win a lot of games, but I'm really looking forward to watching this team to see how they develop and to see who steps up.

This is a good, expectation-free season. All they can do is impress me! :)
