He desperately needed to add weight, but the amount of game-saving plays he had for the Bulls that season was utterly peerless. He disappointed in later years because of being out of shape and often injured, but he was a very valuable defensive player for NO as well.

Did I ever say he wasn't? I said he's better now than before.

Yes. You said he was good. He wasn't good. He was great. How does a guy with stone hands, a 225 pound frame, no offensive game, no shooting ability, no passing ability get a 60 million dollar contract? By being a great defender, particularly help-side.

He was taught by Skiles, another defensive expert, before he ever met Casey. This myth of Casey, who I like, can certainly not be confirmed by Chandler's emergence. That happened due to health, and a goddamn contract year.

It has got to be the biggest waste of time even bothering to enter an argument with you choker, lol. Yoou're so off base on Chandler. And, re-read what droponov just wrote, and your response to him. You're not even arguing against what the guy said. You're just making up a new random fabrication of what he said, and arguing against that instead. It's ok to admit you're wrong instead of constantly making up odd responses.

If you you want to believe that Casey magically transforms players defense by being in his mere presence for a couple weeks, and want to argue it to death with random justifications go ahead, but it's going to have to be with someone else.

Re: Bargnani. No, I do not hate Bargnani. But, your posts are always so off base on the guy.

Yeah run with your tail between your legs la la la la. I'm supposed to be the one that's off base for not thinking that a 20 year old coming from a foreign league can adjust to an entirely different and better one of higher competition based off of his own individual abilities in the span of a couple of weeks, yeah right.

Casey was responsible for managing Dallas' zone defense and defensive schemes. He didn't teach Chandler, but certainly took full advantage of his skills as a defensive stalwart. As mentioned, health played a major part as Chandler had battled injuries for a few seasons.

Worst case scenario is he's Joakim Noah. Becoming a star will depend on how he develops his offensive game. He has all the physical/mental tools and the fact he can shoot free throws already puts him ahead of many big men on the development curve.

Lol. Every single person that has responded on the topic of your assesments of Chandler's D, and Val's D wrt to Casey has disagreed with you. What exactly do you think I have to run from? It is not a case of me running. It is a case of, only a fool would continue arguing with a fool. Do you think the winner of the argument is whoever talks last or something?

I've conceded to the Chandler point, however I've yet to hear a refute to how Casey hasn't been extremely helpful for Valanciunas' transition to the NBA. I've had one poster say that he's being put into positions where he can succeed defensively. That's a huge improvement and a great way to develop players and it's worked wonders for making him an impactful defender. So you can act bigger and live in this la la land of yours while spouting off nonsense and hiding in the shadows of others.

15/7 in 20 minutes tonight (yeah I know, preseason)

Foul trouble is going to be his real problem (5 fouls tonight)

Hopefully it won't be Tiago Splitter syndrome (not comparing them as players, but Splitter was addicted to commiting personal fouls in his rookie year)

Noah is an awesome player , elite rebounder and defender.

Toronto would be fortunate to have Jonas be that good. He may be better, maybe not.

Hi is tall and athletic. I have not seeen him play enough to predict.

Kanter outperformed him in the Euro-Under18 games.

Kanter simply matured earlier. BTW i saw that game live and it wasn't as lopsided in Kanter's favor as the boxscore might led you to believe.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.
