I want to go to a local Giants bar but I've been at home since game 5 of the NLCS and we haven't lost since.

Bum was fantastic. 2-0 with Vogey and Cain coming up, I'm excited

I still think it goes 6, imo. Game 3 or 4 will be VERY important, because I don't see JV having a bad game again in game 5.

Tigers pen is pretty awful. All you gotta do is drive up Sanchez pitch count.

Since games 3-5 are in an AL park, who DHs for SF? Hector Sanchez? The Corpse of Xavier Nady?

Blanco has been way too good in the outfield to replace, it's not like Nady isn't being forgotten. Plus, we're not facing any left handed starters. It's probably going to be Sanchez or Huff.

Why would we need to replace Blanco?

My guess is Pablo goes to DH, Arias will play third base.

Sanchez is a better hitter against RH pitchers though, no?

I think I read somewhere that it'll be Huff at DH since it's all righty starters. I don't know what I want to see, none of the options are very appealing.

Sanchez: best against RHP
Huff: draws most pitches per plate appearance, decent on-base %

but...

Arias: by far the best road stats (.841 road OPS), only real threat to steal bases.

Touch choice. I would probably go with Arias, he's had quite a few clutch at bats this year and gives them speed on the basepaths.

Posted before I saw this, but I like that a lot. I think that's the best scenario available.

The Giants are working out at Comerica Park in Detroit right now. It’s chilly, but nothing like it will be the next few nights.

Manager Bruce Bochy said he expects Hector Sanchez to be the designated hitter at least for Saturday night’s Game 3. Bochy likes that Sanchez is a switch-hitter, and he always has the potential for an extra-base hit.

Sanchez DH’d a lot in the minors, particularly at Class A San Jose. It’s common for catchers to do that in the minors because you don’t usually have an everyday catcher. The catchers on the rosters rotate behind the plate.

“It’s different,” Sanchez said. “When you DH you have to sit down and go hit. It’s hard, especially in this weather. You’ve got to be ready.”

Sanchez revealed a little of how the Giants have gotten ready before these postseason games. He said they have a music mix that begins with the “Rocky” them. Then comes a salsa song. That’s some fine multiculturalism on a team with so many Latin players.

Sly Stallone is from Philadelphia. I assume he’s a Phillies fan. He might want to root for the Giants in the Series.
