I keep thinking this more and more. If we can improve both the PG position as well as SF, why the hell not? Maybe we can include both in a multi team trade and get a very solid PG. **** you never know what happens in the course of a season, you can always get a Rondo asking out of Boston or something. Just speaking hypothetical here, I don't have a crystal ball, but if you have two guys who can play starter minutes at PF and C, you don't need another guy who demands 20-25% of your cap at either position, and that's what Jefferson and Millsap are. Evans and Marvin Williams can play some back up PF, or sign someone from the d-league if that doesn't work out, we're just talking 12-16 minutes at either position if they play 32-36 minutes which they can easily handle. Maybe get a vet, good locker room presense and mentor. Either way, resigning one is a large risk of losing one of young guys.

Millsap has looked awfully expendable so far.

Wednesday is deadline to extend some young point guards in the league. I don't believe blockbuster trade is real. Especially for PG.
It's time to jazz with Hayward and Favors!

Its pre-season. Enes and Favors did nothing last year to show they are ready to start (or ready to play major minutes) even during Favors criminally overrated playoff performance. If anything Favors playoff performance and inconsistency all last season (including barely showing much improvement from rookie season) show he's not ready for major minutes.

Unless Enes and Favors prove otherwise (which they haven't yet becuase pre-season means nothing) during the regular season then at least Jefferson must stay on this team. Don't care how millsap and jefferson have been play because its pre-season, I saw them all last year and I know what they can do.

- Jefferson posted 4 assists to his wings against Blazers, dude's learning something and Marvin specially seems to have a nice feeling on where to stand when Al is doubled...

- 10M per year is too much; that's MHO...

My favorite example of pre-season wonders is tyrus thomas. Year after year I have to hear: Look at tyrus thomas he beasting on people, His post moves are way more advanced, he looks stronger and more in shape, blah blah blah. My response is he looks virtually the same, its just the pre-season. What happened when the regular season rolled around ... little improvement each time.

Don't fool your self, Kanter was doing all that stuff versus high schoolers then in his rookie season most of those "post moves" were being blocked. Plus anytime someone gets that excited over a simple turn around dunk off the baseline that was still way to slow (one in which he almost busted his butt on because he didn't get enough lift) on Cole Aldridge of all people, you know they are not that athletic. Favors still is anemic offensively and looks lost of defense way too often for my taste. I see little improvement, same stuff different year.

Repa, I'm not convinced with Favors just yet, but if come the All-Star season he's shown much improvement, then I think it will be time to move Al and Millsap. The point is, they both become free agents, they aren't going to sign for cheap, and we will soon need to sign Favors, so unless we decide now to not resign Favors in 2014, we should not resign either in 2013.

Kanter has shown tons more promise if you ask me. Look how serious he took the summer, Favors on the other hand, meh.

Millsap will get atleast 10M, Jefferson probably get 13-14M per year, easily.

Allow me to rephrase it; I didn't spell it well... IMHO Jazz cannot commit 10M per year on Millsap.
