Line-up/Rotation suggestions

Post#1 » by Luxury » Sun Oct 28, 2012 5:43 pm

If I'm the opposing team, waiting on Blake, Meeks, Ebanks, Jamison to come off the bench is like waiting in-line at the buffet. That's all you can eat right there, and I don't think anyone can deny that.

Now let's get to my main point. As you already know, most championship contender teams always had one or two guys coming off the bench that always sustained the lead and energy. Examples, Lamar Odom, Manu/Stephen Jackson, Harden, Jason Terry/Barea, and etc.

Sure they all came off the bench, but they sustained the energy through the first half and still closed out games.

The starting line-up will be Blake/Kobe/Ebanks/MWP(PF)/Dwight.
Pros:
-Quicker in transition
-Faster in rotations defensively
-Kobe and Dwight main focus on offense (Princeton or PnR)
-MWP more chance to post, better that than dribbling on perimeter

Cons:
-Steve Blake LOL

When Nash & Pau comes in w/ Hill & Meeks
Pros:
-No significant drop off
-Nash has complete freedom to be Phoenix Suns Steve Nash**
-Pau is the first option in the post**
-A good bench is a bench that can score
-Overall more balanced from start to finish

The season is about to start, at least this isn't a knee-jerk reaction, just a suggestion that makes more sense and allows each player to maximize their time on their court -- and just to straight out be aggressive instead of deferring.

Give your thoughts or line-up/rotation suggestions.

i've always expected a nash/d12 and kobe/pau pairing, not nash/pau. anyway, i think the rotations can work just fine with all 4 starting.

I have no worries about those 4 starting. Its the bench who I'm worried about. Unless we sign serviceable vets for the min., were going to be losing momentum more times than not when the bench comes in. Our main players would still be getting their minutes, its just a matter of the timing in the game.

Which serviceable veterans did you have in mind?

Haven't look at the all vets available or players recently waived.

But like what I said earlier, we can either go through peaks/valleys, ups/downs, and good/bad spurts during the game and probably have to rely on starters playing big minutes -- or we can take control of the game from start to finish by mixing it up, and finishing hard.

Just my suggestion before I started yelling and throwing stuff at my TV when the season starts lol

We should always have one of Kobe/Nash and one of Dwight/Pau on the floor at all times. My ideal lineups are:

Blake
Kobe
Ebanks
Hill
Pau

and

Nash
Meeks
Artest
Jamison
Dwight

Both have good balance of size, defense, offense, and outside shooting.

Ebanks should be in the second line-up.
