Watch the video. It's about 20 minutes long.

This was a great video to watch. Thanks for posting this.

This video definitely paints a picture why Henny wanted Afflalo in this deal.

Question for the masses: Would you trade Afflalo and Ayon for OKC's 2013 Toronto Pick, Jeremy Lamb, and the unfortunate Kendrick Perkins contract? #'s line up almost identically.

C: Kendrick Perkins, Nikola Vucevic, Kyle O'Quinn
PF: Glen Davis, Andrew Nicholson, Josh McRoberts
SF: Hedo Turkoglu, Moe Harkless, Al Harrington
SG: JJ Redick, Jeremy Lamb, DeQuan Jones
PG: Jameer Nelson, E'Twaun Moore, Ish Smith

Gives us a starting lineup of career winners to groom a replacement lineup of Moore/Lamb/Harkless/Nicholson/Vucevic.

Lose Redick and McRoberts and waive Hedo after the season and trade Harrington to a contender at the deadline, and you have

C: Nikola Vucevic, Kendrick Perkins, Kyle O'Quinn
PF: Glen Davis, Andrew Nicholson
SF: Moe Harkless
SG: Jeremy Lamb, DeQuan Jones
PG: Jameer Nelson, E'Twaun Moore, Ish Smith
+ Orlando 2013 1st + Toronto 2013 1st as your core to build around. Perkins (8m/yr), Davis (6.5m/yr), and Nelson (8.5m/yr) all expire at the same time, and the rest of our team would still be on rookie contracts if we exercise their options. This could enable us to sign as many as two MAX players before extending or using Bird Rights to re-sign our rookies as necessary.

Why in the world would OKC even consider that deal.

Perkins >>> Ayon
Kev Martin/Lamb >>> Afflalo

Toronto's 1st rounder >>> Ayon and Afflalo combined.

I think I would do the trade as well. Only thing is Rob would have to give up something else in addition for the trade to happen. Maybe throw in a 2nd round pick as well to get OKC to do it

I won't argue the last two, but Ayon seems to be a much better rebounder and scorer, despite Kendrick's edge on individual defense.
Remember when Kobe elbowed Jameer in the chin so hard Jameer was knocked down and sent skidding across the floor?

doesn't make sense for OKC. Lamb and that Toronto pick have the potential to be worth far more than Afflalo on their own, let alone together.

dollars wise, it's just transferring the contract from your C to your SG.

talent wise, OKC might prefer someone like Ayon at C, but not at the expense of a potential #4 pick.

It seems like the open practice might be streaming on the Magic's live stream page. It's just showing crowd shots right now, but hopefully it will show the practice once it starts. Anyways, here's the link for anybody interested in watching it. We'll see shortly if they will continue to stream once the practice starts.

Honestly, they probably wouldn't. Perkins is a rapidly aging, marginally effective player on a terrible contract, and I'm sure the team wants out of it. Kevin Martin is a stop-gap and a volume shooter, and a fragile one at that, and the team has supposedly coveted Afflalo for a while. A team that forecasts to be in contention for the next three seasons might be averse to paying Perkins more than $8,000,000 for extremely limited production and might be averse to changing SGs again next season and for waiting for Lamb or a future pick to develop. OKC is too good not to be a "win-now" team. This trade puts them in a better position to do it.

Again though, I'm not sure they would consider this offer. Just because I like it doesn't mean Sammy P would ;)

I'm assuming the stream is from the jumbotron just like it was during some of the preseason games.

Annoying, but, what can you do. Better than nothing I suppose.
