you jump on period of contention and throw in everything you have while the window is over because it won't last forever (unless you're the lakers)
This trade is better than losing Perkins. Shooting Guard is a relatively easy position to replace as OKC just proved. Perkins, although is fantasy stats don't show it, is a key part of this team making the finals. Now that Howard is in LA it is even more important that Perkins stays in OKC.
