yeah, i think that tweet was misinterpreted. i think davidi means farrell retained 3 coaches from cito's staff when he took over in 2011, and that the new coach coming in will also be allowed to hand-pick his staff. at least that's the way i read it.

you're no doubt correct. a better word for Dividi would have been "assumed".

Either way, if he's quoting AA, then everyone from this coaching staff is gone. I see nothing but positives in that. It was time for a change.

so even though butter has been named the 3B coach for the sox, apparently he's still a possible candidate for the jays job, as per rob bradford of weei.com...same with alomar jr.

If Butterfield does get the Red Sox job then I'll be waiting for the day he sends Ortiz home from second on a base hit.
