KOTB: Rudy Gay to Canada... Another try

Post#1 » by Mich3006 » Fri Nov 2, 2012 12:37 pm

TOR out: Calderon, Johnson, Ross
TOR in: Rudy Gay

MEM in: Chandler, Calerdon, Ross
MEM out: Rudy Gay

DEN out: Chandler
DEN in: Johnson

TOR: Lowry, DeRozan, Gay, Bargnani, Valanciunas (Lucas, Fields, Kleiza, Davis, Gray)
MEM: Conley, Allen, Chandler, Randolph, Gasol (Calderon, Ellington, Ross, Arthur, Speights)
DEN: Lawson, Igoudala, Galinari, Faried, McGee (Miller, Hamilton, Brewer, Johnson, Koufos)

Why? The Raptors aquire Rudy Gay while they keep their talented core in Lowry-DeRozan-Valanciunas-Davis... Memphis get off a big contract while they add quality on PG and on the SF + talent in Terrence Ross... Denver bring in Jordan Hamilton and Quincy Miller while they add more power in D and rebounding with Amir Johnson!

Chandler is worth more than Amir Johnson, Denver says no, trade falls apart.

I think I'd say yes for the Griz, subject to my usual caveat about waiting until the team shows it can't win with Gay or can win without him.

I also suspect Chandler and Amir have roughly comparable value, to Denver at least.

Chandler and Johnson are pretty close in value with the slight edge to Chandler simply because of the rarity of his position. Not sure what Toronto could do to make up for the gap since it's so small.
