Those two fed off each other, created great spacing and when one was out of the game the team collapsed. They both can create for themselves and others(Harden>>>>Lin). Lin will have better numbers overall with Harden than without and since they play a fast moving uptempo brand of offense with a lack of other scorers there will be plenty of shots for those two. I honestly think that Harden and Lin could play in any offense as they are both pretty unselfish players. That being said at best these guys are a first round exit.

Harden is a better scorer than Lin, but I take Lin for toughness, defense and other intangibles. It's not the popular call but it is what it is.

He was like, ‘Oh, thank goodness, coach.’ “

That doesn't sound like a guy that isn't buying in to me. Once again this notion that Lin can't play with a high volume scorer & is overly ball dominant has been blown away. He played perfectly fine with harden last night sharing the lead guard duties. Same with this notion that Lin is a product of Dantoni's system.

Watched the whole game in HD... didn't notice "this funny body language" SS is talking about either.

How you watched the game does not matter. So, just go back and watch it now, and look for what I've just stated.

Lin was not happy on more than one occasion when Harden either brought the ball up or asked for it right after halfcourt.

Why don't you post a clip? I saw the whole game too and I don't see that at all when they're on the court together. Lin is actually pretty happy in a few possessios near the end where Harden does his thing

What you're saying just doesn't jive with what I've seen from Lin so far. I saw a lot of good interaction between Harden and Lin in the 4th quarter... most of the time Lin was smiling going into timeouts when they went on their 4th quarter run. And here in the video the last play the game clincher Harden has the ball.. Lin is open waving.. Harden slips in the paint and makes the and1 and you can clearly see Lin fist pumping. From what I've seen from Lin is he's a win first guy.. whatever it takes.

People read body language differently. I remember watching Melo sit on the bench right next to Lin and joke around with him and following the game people were saying Melo looked upset with Lin...It's tough to really know what's going through the players' heads most times. I think Lin has always seemed the type to be happy working with a guy like Harden, Mchale had him giving up the ball right after crossing halfcourt already (preseason)...I hated on it the whole preseason.

After the play, while in action is different. I saw quite a few plays, mostly second half when Lin did not appreciate not having the ball or having to give it up.

Harden with a career high tonight and Lin having a pretty good game as well. I get what Stutter is saying in that Harden is effectively operating as a PG while Lin is standing around more. Not how we are used to seeing Lin. But with the minutes these guys are having to put in because Toney Douglass is still horrible and is the main backup, I'm guessing that Lin likes the chance to rest when he can.

Lin is a wise kid

He knows he can't go 100% the whole year and expect to survive intact

He is gonna have to pick and choose his spots to attack and control the game especially with Harden now who is capable of handling the ball

He's getting his opportunity to do his thing... tonight his legs looked tired towards the end.. but he's the main ball handler on the break and had plenty of time in the high PnR.. it's toward the end of the game where the ball is primarily in Hardens hands... but teams are going to start trapping him and the ball will ned up right back in Lin's hands.

Good point Doc.. he needs to focus on doing other things point guards do.. like tonight he helped on the glass big time and he still surprises me how good he is defensively on the other stuff like help defense and rebounding.

its hard for me to believe but james harden roasted the hawks. unreal. 45 points. yikes!!! they said pistons were wack at defense, so james scored easily...but the hawks were in the top 10 in def rating last year.
harden can ball.

lin almost had a triple double too, holy mackerel. kid has good hustle. he'll get his jumper back.

45 points is no fluke. It is too early to predict if Harden can be "the guy" for the Rockets and take them far, but he gives them a bright future. This team is young with plenty of room for development. I think the Rockets' management made the right moves.

Harden is a freaking monster.

Lin had 21 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists on a bad night. :D

A few trolls trashing him and finding new excuses on the Rockets board that are still in love with Dragic and Lowry. He's now an "over-penetrator" and shot "too much".

Wow, what a start for Harden. Great game for Lin but I still think Lowry is the better player. Harden/Lowry could've been one of the best backcourts in the game.

Houston is one piece away from being very, very good
