lmao...Lebron is far from the best defender in the NBA. For years people people waited for him to use his physical profile to play defense....and he did and the overractiong has been ridiculou. U can't tell me he is more impactful than guys like Dwight, Chandler, and even Avery Bradley with a straight face.

I can see he's more impactful then Avery Bradley with a straight face. The rest, you can debate, but I'd say LeBron is in the top five. Don't act so smart, you just said James Harden was better then a three time MVP.

He's not more impactful than even Avery Bradley. His supposed defensive abilities have gotten so out of hand it's almost comical. he gets burned way too much to call him some sort of super defender, no mater how man great transittion plays you see on sportscenter.

He was seriously a sieve for 6-7 years in cleveland, he'a putting the effort in now and it's hilarious to see the popular reaction.

Boy I sure hope Morey is patient and decides to wait for the right player to add for a 2nd max contract. Can you imagine if LA completely implodes and Howard decides to leave next summer?

Honestly, I think the Rockets are going to make the playoffs. They have Portland & Denver at home coming up which are two very winnable games for this new team. The swag is already showing for this team right now, plus the fact the Lakers look abysmal is just showing that starting out well really helps. The Rockets need to look at Power Forward the most glaring need on this team. It'll be interesting to see who the Rockets could add through a trade.

The Rockets have a slew of young PFs. Terrence Jones was a star of summer league. Donatas Motiejunas has three point range, good handles, can rebound. They are young. Patterson is a good shooter and a bit of a stretch PF. Marcus Morris is also a stretch PF.

I think the Rockets are loaded with young talent.

Harden is great and all but cmon now... Lebron is still the best in the league.

This is right. We won't die at the PF position. We have 3 legit PF prospects who turn into NBA starters/borderline all-stars. Hopefully one of them will by the end of this season.

What we need is a backup point guard or a star SF. Chandler Parsons has pretty much reached his prime.

Don't all kill me for saying this, but Harden's obscene success in these 2 games remind me of how JLin surprised everyone in that short span last season.

It's partly playing against poor teams (Pistons and Hawks--check) and teams not preparing well for Harden, though that's only conjecture.

Harden also looks in midseason form (as do several others that were on the Olympic squad), and many teams are far from sharp on the defensive end.

Harden certainly looks like a beast, but comparing him with LeBron after 2 games is a stretch. The next few games are a good test, then a gimme vs Detroit, and then a real challenge vs Miami.

But who knows, Harden might be going through the T-Mac effect where he steps out from another Superstar(s)' shadow and goes on to dominate the league.

He shoots, penetrates, and is a better playmaker than Lebron.

Defense is hard to tell because Lebron is better, but he only tries for like 5 mins of the game.

Lol what am I reading.

Anyway Harden is GOAT the Rockets are now my 2nd favorite team.

I thought Harden was a top 20 player in the league. I was wrong. He's at least top 15 with a serious threat of being top 10 this season.

I've watched the highlights of both his games, and surprisingly he seems to be playing extremely well off of Lin and vise versa. Pretty amazing that things were looking a bit disastrous at first for Houston, and the basketball gods had rewritten their destiny.

Impressive game by Harden. Thought he got bailed out a ton late in the game lol, but he's definitely exceeding my expectations.

Really curious to see what he'll average this season.

Except that Harden has been playing at a high level for a while now. Obviously not as good as he's been the last couple of games, but to compare him to Lin from last year is crazy to me since he's already shown last year that he's an all-star caliber player.

They got Hakeem (but passed up on Jordan) and that has been the only good move the franchise has done in their history. this whole, giving Harden a "Joe Johnson" size contract is just typical of Houston's bad and down right dumb basketball decisions .

Awful, awful trade for Houston.++
vincecarter4pres wrote:It's pretty obvious Harden is a better passer and playmaker then Westbrook and it's not even debatable that he's world's better running the pick and roll.

This stuff goes back to his Sun Devil days when he was more or less their pseudo point guard next to Glasser.

Really good on drive and kick and the pick and roll. Nice court vision and feel for the game, crisp passer, underrated handle and similar level first step. Much higher BBIQ.

He's just a flat out better player overall than Westbrook and plenty of people said it last season.

Don't get me wrong, what he has done in the past 2 games are amazing for any player.

But until he does this against a playoff team I'm not going to be that impressed.

It's the Pistons and Hawks who both are bottom 5-8 teams this season.
Dammit...:

I've got Nurkic fever now.
