Contenders

Post#1 » by addygrace » Sat Nov 3, 2012 3:07 am

I'm not a Houston fan, but I am a basketball fan. James Harden, IMO, makes the Houston Rockets contenders. I know, I know....it's only been 2 games, but his limited play in OKC has translated well. He's proving any team playing Houston has to double him. I really didn't think extrapolating his numbers out when he finally became a starter would translate, but it did. That hardly ever happens. Morey gave up a lot, but you have to, to land a star. Morey, however, landed a superstar. He also got Jeremy Lin. Not only will it be exciting to watch this backcourt for years to come, but he has turned this team into a contender. I'm happy for Houston. You guys have a really nice team to cheer for. Wow just wow....has any player ever been more undervalued than Harden? Well, I guess maybe Lin was last year, but Harden is on another level.

Hola!

The Rockets will be fun to watch this season! Harden, Lin & Asik seem to be a solid core. I really think that Parsons will be a part of that core as well.

Hope to see you around here this season! GO ROCKETS!!!

Not to discount anything the Rockets have done so far, but Detroit and Atlanta aren't very good.

I said it in another thread before season started. If Lin continues this way, Rox will surprise everybody, including most of the fans. Contenders is a reach, but believe me, this is a very complex team to face. When you have a perimeter that can penetrate or shoot from outside at a high rate, you have a very difficult team to guard. Add youth and speed... well, just do the math. I just think Rockets needs Asik to add some scoring and get a better reserve PG and C, but this team is very balanced in talent, effort and will to win. Let's say a mix of "blue collar" players with talent. Time will tell, but make my words, you're on to a nice surprise

lmao reading this thread thorougly gave me some good laughs, and the op actually backs his statement in the middle fo the thread

to make the playoffs, our best players gotta average...

harden - 40ppg, 10apg, 7rpg, 3spg, 48mpg, 67fg%
lin - 20ppg, 10apg, 7rpg, 48mpg
patterson - 20ppg, 15rpg, 5bpg, 2spg
asik - 20rpg, 0ppg, 5bpg, 48mpg
parsons - 30ppg, 8apg, 8rpg, 2spg, 2bpg
douglas - 0mpg

they can pull that off, we get to see the first round
