Varejao

Post#1 » by LongLiveIverson » Sat Nov 3, 2012 6:03 pm

Would you be interested in this trade?

Danny Green, Dejuan Blair, Matt Bonner, 1rst for Anderson Varejao and Omri Casspi

Blair is clearly not coming back next year. Matt Bonner is just to make the salaries match he would most likely get bought out and come back (like Ilgauskas with the Cavs)
Green is a nice player but stuck behind Kawai whos going to be getting more minutes, you also have Jackson.
Varejao, Duncan, Splitter, Diaw, Bonner front court depth is going to be huge come playoffs. And you still have Jackson, Neal, Casspi and Patty Mills with your second unit. What do you think?

Bonner couldn't come back some rule about that now. That'd be a blessing though. Green is a cheaper starter though. Torn I'd probably do it without the first though

Yea I just feel your window is pretty short honestly getting another solid big could be enough to get you over the hump with OKC because their big men minus Ibaka are looking awful. And with the Lakers ill take Greg over Mike Brown anyday in a 7 game series.

Green isn't stuck behind Kawhi, they both start.

Take out the 1st and Casspi out and i'm all over this. There's going to be a ton of great foreign kids (Abrines, Saric, Larsen, Karasev, Nogueira etc.) that are all going to be available late in the first and we need to grab one of them to continue reloading the bottom end of our roster.

But Varejao is exactly what we need, a big body that can do all the dirty work around the rim.

Varejao would be such a good fit on this team... almost perfect

He'd be like Oberto was in 06-07 but more agile and younger...

Varejao with Duncan could be deadly (greatest defensive PF in history with Duncan and one of the best rebounders/defenders of recent years in Varejao). It could just be what the Spurs need for another title. However the Cavs won't be trading him unless they are getting good value in return, he brings too much to that franchise to part him for peanuts.
