we are a mess. I must admit. we don't get baserunners and when we do, we don't get big 2 out hits, we don't seem to move runners, and for the life of me, what is it with guys striking out to end games. I mean abreu yesterday, WTF was that? if it is close and you are facing possibly the last pitch of the game, WTF are you standing there with the bat on your shoulders for? I could never understand that...

Show's that perhaps having a team full of patient guys who had high OBP doesn't always work? That you may actually have to have some guys that are aggressive (at the plate and on the bases) to make it worthwhile for opposing pitchers to not feel that they can challenge you by throwing it in the strikezone early on? The Yanks are falling behind in the count way too often this season with guys that are so deadfast on waiting that they aren't able to realize that teams have been going after them in the zone more and more often.

Nope, our OBP method has worked for the last 10 years. Our guys just aren't hitting. If you had them swing at the first pitch, it still wouldn't mean jack ****, because they still can't hit.
