Entire Clipper forum/fans, Who's your favorite Clipper?

Post#1 » by mike3 » Sun Nov 4, 2012 10:36 am

Curious to see who most Clipper fans (at least on this forum) favorite player on our team is?
I imagine a lot wouldn't been Eric Gordon for long time Clipper fans but today's team I mean.

Going to poll this, see if we can get a large amount of people contributing to see which player has most.

Mine: Blake Griffin
I didn't try hard at all to like Blake, i just did instantly, from the beginning it's obviously hard not to love him as he changed our team to what it is today in a way. I developed a passion just supporting Blake from day 1 with the Clippers. As he's grown and gotten a lot more criticism, whether it be over hyped, flopping, over rated, can-only-dunk rubbish, it made me grow into more of a fan of his. Following his progression and rooting for him every step of the way. Today I'm as passionate as ever, huge fan of Blake, I find myself defending Griffin wherever possible, with friends, forums etc. I just like his attitude, he doesn't seem arrogant, a genuinely nice guy, yet he can be too relaxed and casual at times on the court etc. so it can be frustrating, but he's still got a lot to get into his game and fix. but that's what I'm liking. He's got to prove him self now and I just love seeing him play and trying to prove doubters wrong. I think he will eventually become one of the big stars in this league.

Also interested to see how many of you guys favorite is CP3 purely because he joined us or for what reasoning.

State why you favorite Clipper is your favorite if you like. But first one, my vote, Blake Griffin.
I know a lot of players have gone in/out of our team but i'm talking about today so the 10 options will just be from our roster today despite only some joining this season.
Also if you barrack for Clippers but have another favorite player that beats out any Clipper, vote, i'll put a choice for 'Other' and state who and why if you vote other.

All-Time = Loy Vaught

Griffin gives us another player with a great work ethic and winning mentality. Add on top of that a high B-Ball IQ. If we were able to get that first pick, then we would have two young talented players with their heads on their shoulders to build around. Griffin has areas in his game that needs to improve, but maybe he would help change the culture of this team.

That's a quote from me a few days before the lottery in 2009.

I don't necessarily have a hands down favorite player on the team, but I would probably say Griffin if I were forced to choose one. In 2009, the top 3 on my Clipper Draft wishlist were Griffin, Rubio and Harden. I would have been happy with any one of those. The primary reason that I wanted Blake (aside from being the consensus number 1 pick) was that I felt that he would change this organization's culture moving forward. He's done that and it is the reason that things are looking up and the expectations are high.

Paul has come in and only added to the groundwork that Blake's presence started. Trying to change the outlook and perception of this organization was an impossible task that both have been successful in accomplishing. In the past, players turned down the chance to the franchise around. The history, owner and reputation was a lot to deal with. Paul wasn't afraid and it says a lot about him as person and a leader.

They're 1A and 1B for me.

Well said, very interesting that quote you said about Griffin a few days prior to the draft and that you happen to have it lying around lol.

I think Blake's presence and what he did for this franchise by just giving us some hope which lead to players wanting to come join him and turn around our club and now look where we are. That's something that's really special in this franchise I think and Blake was the start of that.

If this were 10 years ago I'd say Lamar but Barnes gets my vote. Too bad he wasn't an option.

LOL I had to search for that one. We just needed a reason to believe. Sterling now has a reason to pay and free-agents (or people like CP3) have a reason to come because we're potentially contenders.

I thought that I would never like Barnes, but I'm glad we picked him up. I think he's been one of the most underrated signings during the offseason.

Definately, especially in the preseason games I saw, I love his hustle and rebounding. Glad we got him.
