Why wouldn't they foul after that layup by Cousins?

if anyone questions the 2 rather than going for the 3...

We had a foul to give so you could gamble twice on a steal not just once.

Team played with a lot of heart. Too bad heart doesn't put the ball in the basket for you...Another great game defensively. Hopefully the offense turns it around. Scoring so few points in the overtime periods was ridiculous...couldn't buy a bucket unless Thornton was shooting. Can't wait for Monday...need to get a win

Bummer. They will win quite a few games this year if they can play defense like that every game though.

They were killed on the boards though.
67-47 in Indiana's favor , George had 17 rebounds and West had 18 rebounds. This team desperately needs to box out at all positions instead of leaking out down the court as soon as a shot goes up.

They played hard and looked like they were competent defensively, those are reasons to be happy with this game.

No. He played nice defense on David West and had a few good passes, but he also got outrebounded by West 18 to 6. The same David West who averaged 6.6 rebounds last year. With how crappy our offense was tonight, we could have used some offensive boards AND some offense. Hayes is a liability out there because nobody has to pay attention to him on offense, allowing the Pacers to always double and triple team Cousins, AND he can't rebound to save his life. It's not all height. It's hustle--something you can't do effectively when you're as overweight as he is. Don't let Grant and Jerry influence you too much with their commentary--Hayes helped us on defense, sure, but hurt us more on net with his pisspoor rebounding and offense. And it's not like he brings this type of defense every night. Boozer demolished him the other night.

Anyway, Tyreke was a terrible, terrible passer tonight. I mean, what the hell were some of those passes he made? He looked like a rookie with some of that garbage. And his jump shot is AS BAD AS EVER. His driving ability is still elite, but you can't lead your team to any victories when that is all you can do.

Thornton is the man like I've been saying. He is our best 2-guard and best scorer. Nobody respects him like they do Tyreke because he wasn't a high draft pick, but objectively, he is better for winning games, point blank period.

Brooks and Thomas Robinson are going to earn starting positions soon as long as Smart isn't hard-headed.

Brooks
Thornton
Johnson
Robinson
Cousins

is what we need to see out there going forward. People can harp all they want about starting Tyreke, Thomas, and Thompson, or even playing Hayes more, but look at what that got us last year and what it's getting us this year. The status quo is a pathetic 0-3 against teams missing their best player.

what do you expect when your center shooting low percentage. no ball movement all we do is pick and roll pick and pop and everything is reliant on one and one offense now i know why we were dead last in field goal percentage offense last season

Cousins right now doesn't seem poised to have a breakout season that we were hoping for. He still has not found a "go to move", he seems to just chuck up shots. He actually looks better shooting a jumper, which is the greatest for a 7 footer. He can't find good positioning down low, and when he does he forces alot of shots. It's really frustrating. The only way we'll be a decent team or fight for 8th spot is if DMC has a beastly year. And by that I mean like 25ppg, 12rpg. But he looks nowhere near that level right now.

A bit off topic, but I wish Petrie would have tried to be aggresive like Morey in Houston. Signing Lin and getting Harden looks pretty sweet right now. Harden is in full on beast mode right now. I don't think we'd have the pieces to get him but I'd love to see Harden in a kings uni. Anyways, it's not looking the greatest for this season atm, and I actually thought we might see a improved team.
Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.

Overall it wasn't a bad effort, defensively that is.
Offensively there isn't any flow to what is happening, way too many jumpers with guys just standing around doing nothing.
For everything James Johnson brings on defence he more than gives it away on offence. Just terrible decisions all of the time, can't dribble, pass or shoot the ball at the moment.
Realistically it was chuck, brooks and Robinson that kept us in the game.
Really liked what Hayes did out there and I like the fact he is it there reaching Robinson and talking to him on every play.

Whoever says Hayes hurt us in this game more then helped us is delusional.

Man, DeMarcus's offense is just DIRE.

Just shot us out of this game.

Best thing I take from this game, was that 5 orso minute stretch in the 4th quarter I think - T-Rob help defense in that stretch was just AMAZING. First sign of potential he has shown in a Kings uniform i'd say.

At least your consistent. Seriously, Hayes stole your lunch money in high school didn't he?

Yep.... He's a good solid player but you have TRob and JT, both are extremely duplicative and both are working about as well as I figured it would. One is the new JJ Hickson, the other is a big who could be a 15 and 8 big for a team needing a production PF who doesn't play great defense. Now whichever of the two that describes depends on how Smart is feeling that night.

Why are people questioning the JT signing? Can't imagine the horror of our big man rotation so far without him. Probably would see a lot of Outlaw at the 4 and TRob at the 5 *shudder*

Anyways, I'm loving the defense so far. Offense will come eventually, but defensively we are putting our hearts on the floor. Minus one brain fart of a quarter, I honestly felt like the Kings were the better team tonight.

don't blame the players, blame the organization and the system. players aren't motivated to play their best. remember, jj hickson looks like garbage when playing on this team, look him now in blazers uniform. the likes of tyreke and cousins will do much much better if they traded to other team. sorry guys but sacramento kings was DONE, pls sell the team to new owners/city.

I'd rather that they would have signed a D League player for the minimum and just started TRob at the 4.
