Big men upgrade idea

Honestly I've loved the Thunder ever since they drafted Durant. From Philly so love the Sixers. Was a huge Lebron fan so I still will support the Cavaliers. Was thinking about an idea that improves two teams I really like.
Cavaliers are most likely moving Anderson Varejao. Outside of Ibaka you guys have literally no bigmen. Perkins is useless at this point of his career. Collison is a good 2nd big off the bench. Can you really rely on Thabeet in the playoffs?
What do you guys think of

Perry Jones, Raptors draft pick, Kendrick Perkins for Anderson Varejao

Perry Jones is a nice prospect but obviously with Durant and Ibaka don't think there's every going to be more for 20mpg at the most. Varejao and Ibaka is a much better defensive duo than Perkins, and he gives you twice as much offense than Perkins. That alone could get OKC over the hump

I agree that we do need to upgrade to a big men. AV is better than Perkins, and AV can get us some rebounds when we need it. Ever seen the Harden trade had happen, we had lost a good scorer and play maker. Right now I would trade Perkins for Al Jefferson or AV. Al Jeff would provide low-post scoring, and rebounding. Al would have to play some d-fense and he will. That's why I rather pick Al over AV because of his low post scoring. OKC needs low-post scoring, and Al would be perfect fit for this team. Either would be good, but if I want a big man that can score Al would fit this role.

So I hope Presti and the front office would be wise to trade for Al Jeff or AV when the trade deadline hits or FA. And we can trade for Al Jeff.

KP/Lamb/4 1 round picks/RJ for Al Jeff/ Hayward/ Bell

EDIT- And I predict SP will make more moves when it hits deadline/fa. we will see

I think Thunder cannot win unless they add bigs who can play in paint.
San Antonio game really exposed them again. They are jump shooting team.

Another thing, as much as good Westbrook is he has to stop playing hero ball. He was responsible for yday loss. I am not even Thunder fan. Just my observations.

I think either trade is an overpay.
Martin seems to be fitting in well, we'll see whether presti will keep him to resign and Lamb should be able to get more opportunities once Thabo/Martin is out for a few games.
PJIII seems like he'll be groomed into the backup forward. Just need ibaka to start hitting his shot and Presti to maybe finally draft a center that can actually do well.

Though i would be interested to see how our shot distribution continue to evolve. Last season seems to be Westbrook/Durant/Harden with Ibaka getting some and the rest getting scrap. We would be a better team if they move the shots around..

I would trade Perkins + TOR pick + Maynor or Jackson for Varejao. Getting out from Perkins' contract and adding a player like AV who is much better is worth a lotto pick and a superfluous guard.

I'm not convinced that AV could be healthy enough to be worth that trade. If he can play through the whole playoff sure.

how many miles does Varejao have left on his body?

Varejao = around 13000 minutes including playoffs, 8 seasons
Perkins = around 15000 minutes including playoffs, 9 seasons
Collison = around 15000 minutes including playoffs, 8 seasons

Both Perk and Collison have slowed down quite a bit the past few years, should we expect something similar with Andy in the next year or so?

It's a concern. But I think he can play out his contract and remain effective. His injuries haven't slowed him down like Perkins' have.

He's playing out of his mind right now. As a Cavs and Thunder fan Perry Jones, Reggie Jackson and Perkins should get it done and be beneficial to both team. Thunder don't really lose anything in terms of production this year. Alot of fans want that and the Toronto pick or Lamb. Its unrealistic he's good but he's not Dwight Howard and your not going to get more than a first for him or a Perry Jones type prospect for him. Plus Presti isn't going to overpay for anything he's one of the best gms in the business he's not going to mortgage a lot for a 30 year old center

But still we do need a good big man, and there's not many of them out there. Perkins is terrible he's hurting this team... He needs to go

Shouldve kept Aldrich. He'd be a good fit.

Would that have been a dealbreaker?
