Kenyon Martin Upset He Can't Find an NBA Job

Post#1 » by cbrown32 » Mon Nov 5, 2012 5:06 am

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--kenyo ... 11709.html

K-Mart claims he will play for anyone, for the league minimum.

Did anyone see much of him last year? Is he really not worth throwing a minimum contract at?

I would definitely like to see him/Jamison come off the bench at 4, keep Jamison/Ebanks at 3, Ebanks/Meeks at 2, and Hill at 5. At the very least it gives Mike Brown more options in the front court.

Dwight and Kobe had to come back in a blowout tonight because our horrid bench was on the verge of losing a huge lead.

"He demands excellence from everyone around him," Olshey said. "He expects coaches to be prepared. He expects his teammates to compete at the same high level that he does. The one thing about Kenyon, if guys are not performing and are not as intense or focused on playing winning basketball, he's not reluctant to let them know about it. And I think that can be misperceived at times."

^^Sounds like he could bring some much needed fire and energy off the bench and in practice.

Our big men are not the issue, we have 2 bigs that can play 35 - 38 mins and another that can play 20 - 25 mins. If we can find a guy that can handle the ball and create a shot I would rather get him than Kenyon Martin.

Why not sign him, sounds like he'll play with a chip on his shoulder.

We don't have unlimited roster spaces to sign everyone. I'm with Slava, we don't need another bigman. A real PG, a 3 who can create and be reliable.. I'd much prefer those.

Cut DJO and Duhon. Sign West, Martin and Pietrus.

If ou have a Pau deal lined up for wing and bench help, sure. If not not really, without an injury happening

Love it, but can't cut Duhon.

We have enough players right now trying to find chemistry. i'd rather give this group some time to gel rather than throw another piece to the puzzle

The team is currently struggling with chemistry. Probably not the best idea to bring in two guys who have historically been detrimental to team chemistry.

Bigs are not the problem. But anyone who can help is always an asset. Give Meeks and Morris more minutes to see what they can really do.

I think it says a lot when someone can't land a spot on the bench. Pass

Martin always seems to play well on defensive rotations and pick n roll D whenever he plays against OKC. I wouldnt just rule out the idea just my opinion

this dude is pure HYPE. I've criticizing him since I started watching almost all nuggets games (after melo trade) and he's simply horrible. He thinks he's good offensively, so he'll take 20footers when he wants, he'll demand a post up then he'll suck, as usual. he'll also gamble for the putback dunk all the time, he'll get it once during the game then next day you bet it'll be shown on ESPN/nba.com and people will think he's great. "Oh, martin looking like 20's right there" Will be the comment made by the announcer (it happens all the time, seriously). So he can't board anymore.

then on the defensive end he lost almost all of his lateral mobility. He once again lives on his image of being a great defender. He'll put the "tough persona" on, then yell here and there, commit a hard foul here and there, get a technical here and there but at the end of the night he'll be highly unproductive. HIGHLY. Because he doesn't even know his role.

Reggie Evans is 10x time the better player at this point. Evans sucks but his know his role and will execute it to perfection. Martin Doesn't. That's why he doesn't have a job, because he sucks nowadays and GMs know this, despite what any stat may say.

Unfortunately for him he doesn't realize he sucks. If he realized he's a washed up player he'd be able to contribute with the intangibles we all know he have in him, but he doesn't.

It's like iverson in some sense. People would say here: "oh, there are dozens of guys in this league that aren't half as good as washed up iverson (and it's true) so why he doesn't get a job?" And it's because if he was signed he'd be asked to play a determined role and that thing only but he can't do it. It's against his nature.

p.s. Hill can do everything martin can do nowadays but MUCH better.

Interesting thought, but I am in the group that wants to stand pat with what we have now and see where it goes.

I would like another gunner if anything, but this team has to get comfortable in the system first.

Don't need him....Hill barely plays in close games and we have Sacre too

Our front court is fine, if there was a way we could sign Peitrus it would be great though.

I thought he was alright last season with the Clippers, I'm not really that high on jordan hill, but I don't see the Lakers changing anything

It's a small group. Most people are panicking and want quick fixes (some of which might actually be detrimental to the long term goals of the team).

The problem is that Duhon will cost too much too much to buyout. Also we need to move 3 players you missed one, and also I don't like any of those 3 anyways.
