G3 : Nuggets @ Heat

Post#1 » by Teens On Acid » Sun Nov 4, 2012 1:05 pm

why wasn't there a game thread ?
anyways...heartbreaker...could have had it, didn't. game over.

this loss alone shouldn't be the point of discussion though, and i (kind of) hate to bring up 3 years ago...but...fire George Karl. Right now. Enough is enough. his rotations have ALWAYS been my biggest issue with his style of coaching. If it's glaringly obvious to us watching at home, why isn't this man with a full coaching staff sitting courtside able to make the adjustments?

the question is, who the hell could we get to coach the most out of this team? Phil Jax isn't going to touch it, Sloan ? i'd rather Karl coach until he was a zombie....what are our options? do we have any?

I'll just say: Corey Brewer friggin useless. George Karl playing Faried at center, laughable.

Would have posted a game thread last night but I have not been online much this last week or even yesterday.

Overall after catching up on all three games yesterday I am more then a little pissed. Where was the effort for the 1st 2 games, it was almost like most of them have let the articles go directly to their head.

Last night was by far their best effort, but why the hell is our lineup at the end of the game having Faried and Gallo as our bigs? We have no interior defense against any good size.

Also where is Jordan hamilton, the kid can score, rebound, and spread the floor, why is Karl playing **** corey Brewer 25 mpg,, the guy is good for about 12 mpg as a hustle guy that can come in and disrupt the other teams offense. He is not a scorer, he is not a good defender, and he is not a good shooter. With Miller playing so many minutes, Iggy at SG, and Gallo being so streaky, we need a confirmed shooter on the court at least those 25 mpg.

The Heat are trying to turn a weakness into a strength upfront. There really needs to be some soul searching going on after the first three games. I have no doubt all the positive pub has gone to their head early on. We have a glut of wings... no polished low post presence... no polished outside scorer... the team needs better rotations... a better mindset... and probably a trade to help fill and clarify roles... which should balance out the team.

Yea I say play Jham or trade him.

i understand wanting to help down on lebron james to not give up a layup.

but giving ray allen an open 3 from the left corner, and then fouling him is worse.

seemed to have it together last night like they should have. couldn't tell if it was because the heat had absolutely no size and we were able to take advantage of that, if it was simply more effort expended, or there was a bit more cohesion offensively. either way there's good stuff to take away from that game....unlike the first 2.

Yeah CBrew messed up, he had a split decision to make, and made the wrong one. However, Faried was assigned to guard LeBron with 5 PFs with Denver in the penalty. Had CBrew not come over to help, James would have got the foul, Faried fouled out and 2 FTs for Miami. Pick your poison. That was GKs call, Gallo would have been the better option defending LeBron, at least he had length and can body up on him.

There were ALOT of no-calls in that 4th quarter. Did you see the elbow to Millers face? Did you see Mario Chalmers pull down Brewer on Iggy's made 20 footer? Or the flopping Wade did in the 4th? The refs played a big role in this loss to.

And Gallo, 3/17 FGs for a plus/minus of -19...thats your problem there. Had Gallo made 40% of his shots at least, we would of won by 10. But the guy just kept shooting. At least try and get to the FT line

Yeah everyone is happy to blame Brewer for this loss, or GK, but our 'all star' shot us out of this game.

What all star? last I checked everybody was hoping Gallo would take the next step but so far that does not look like it has happened.

As for blaming brewer, that one play is not my problem with him, my problem with him is that he is the new George karl security blanky while Karl ignores the fact that we have a player on the bench that can go a long way to solving one of this teams biggest problems which is outside shooting. Fact is teams can pack the paint as Brewer, Miller, and Gallo have not really been outside threats so far this year, and everybody knows our bigs are not jump shooters. Hamilton so far is the most dependable outside shooter on the roster, and yet he cannot get minutes.

Obviously JHam isn't doing enough to warrant minutes, but GK has always been this way, nothing will change. For JHam to get minutes OVER the likes of Miller, Brewer, Chandler - he needs to do more than just shoot threes. Yes I agree he has potential, and is a decent rebounder, but there is something missing that us fans are not seeing.

With Brewer, I agree that he is playing too many minutes and is ideal for 18-22. However his plus/minus was the highest at +12 vs Miami, and he was doing the right things to help us maintain/keep the lead. He is an energy guy and right now, has the trust of GK to warrant 25 mpg.

I can guarantee that either Gallo, Chandler and/or Brewer will be traded by the deadline, which will open minutes for JHam. Until then, I'm not sure we will see much of him.

I hate that Brewer jacks up any shot he gets now. 0 assists in 3 games so far and only 1 spg despite always messing up defensive rotations and gambling for steals.

It's so obvious that Hamilton should be getting his minutes. Brewer's bad play should get him removed from the rotation but it happens with Karl every year, he picks a bad player on the roster and gives him 20mpg no matter how bad he plays.

I agree 100% that Brewer is shooting an unusually high amount of threes in the first 3 games, but its clear as mud that the coaching staff have told him and Gallo to shoot when open. But you have to admit, as a team, all the assists and steals are down, the first 2 games of the season was uncharacteristic of Denver, but the Miami game was a huge improvement. I would say after 10 games see where the players are at before unfairly judging any of them.

On threes, Gallo is 3/18, Brewer is 6/19 (including 2 half court attempts at end of qtrs), Ty is 1/5 and Iggy is 3/11 - so they are all shooting badly. But I expect those attempts to drop and percentages to increase once the team start playing their run n gun style again and sharing the ball better.

If Chandler is being 'showcased' as rumour has it, then JHam should get his minutes with Brewer playing 18-20 mpg as an energy guy.

Yeah all right! Fire Goerge Karl! :D Man I visit this forum for long time so I can't help myself but bring it back.

"Hey everyone. This Goerge Karl coach pretty sucks. I'd say Adrian Dantley is much better."
"Yay, Adrian Dantley is like best coach in the world."
"I say for a long time Adrian Dantley should be our coach. Karl's soooo bad."

And you might remember what happened with AD as head coach.

Karl is not in the league of Popovich, Rivers, Jackson and Thibodeau. But he is right next with Adelman, Carlisle or Scott. And by far better than Mike Brown or Del Negro who have so much talent and can't work with it.

There is one person to blame and to do it a lot. Masai Ujiri. He is the one who said Nene and Afflalo are our future core and trade them in sixth months. He is the one who had one of the worst 3pt shoting team in the league and trade Big Al and AA and bring none shooter. (and I believe Hawks might think about trading Korver or Morrow, they're loaded on perimeter) He collect the all-dumb roster with Brewer, McGee and Randolph. So don't wonder we have ONE intelligent player in Dre Miller. And he has the impertinence to say "young teams can't win." They don't? Ask Presti about it...

Let's be positive... HATE game was great with sad result. I still believe we have the same 50 wins first round exit team we're used to have. Fans of twenty other teams can't say this.

Pick your poison? I don't understand your massive obsession with Brewer. Of course you choose to put James to the line! Everytime. First of all you have a chance of him missing one or even both of his free throws which is a very real possiblilty. Secondly, even if he does make both free throws, it's a one point game. Not a f**king three point game because you decided to leave their best shooter open and then foul him as he's shooting so that even if he misses the shot, you just put one of the best free throw shooters to the line for three foul shots.

No Karl is not in the same league as Adelman or Carlisle. They have not had as much talent over the years as Karl. When those coaches get talent they usually make it to the WCF or win a championship easily. Karl instead needed Billups to even sniff the WCF and still found a way to eff it up when he made it. His lineups are terrible and he sucks as a playoff coach period.

Minus the Billups year if you told me when melo was drafted the team would not get out of the first round under Karl I would have laughed.

Oh and lol mike brown and del negro got their teams out of the first round. Something Karl has no experience in.

Let's not overvalue Karl but let's be fair.

Carlisle- Won NBA title with pretty good team but they were underdog. Besides that he has one second round in three other postseasons with Mavericks including last year embarrasing sweep. But well, I might agreed with him. He's young and have tho others CF with Pacers (very strong team!) and even Pistons (hell of a job).

Adelman- Owns hearts of many basketball fans. Offensive genius. Has one WCF with Kings. And two finals and WCF with Blazers. I'm not mad if you say he didn't have the talent Karl had cause these old Blazers are one of the most underrated teams ever. I can't say he is such better coach. Same as Karl- love to watch them play.

Karl- One WCF with Nuggets and a lot of dissapointment in first rounds. Plus he has one finals and one WCF with Seattle and ECF with Bucks. And yes, he is like seventh on all-time winning list. You don't get there by being terrible coach. He is very respected and picked as one of the COY candidates almost everywhere. It seems he is respected everywhere outside Colorado...

Mike Brown is terrible clown. He coached two greatest players of the decade and having respect of noone. At Cleveland all he could do was "throw the ball to LeBron!" "And then?" "Hell do I know?" And now he's desctructing one of the most talented starting five in the history of the game. Hooooray!

It's obvious this team has serious spacing issues and it's going to stay that way until someone's able to step up and be a legitimate threat from the 3-point line. Why should teams even step out to the perimeter when all we have is Corey Brewer chucking up seven 3's a game? It's terrible. I like Brewer and I think he's a good fit for this team, but he's playing far too large of a role right now. Whatever he brings to the table defensively is not making up for everything he can't do on the offensive end, and it's doing more harm than good. We know Hamilton can shoot and it's painfully obvious that we're desperate for a shooter, why not give him a chance?

I also hated Karl's decision to go small at the end of the Heat game. Miami clearly had no answer for our size, why take out McGee?

With that said, there were still a lot of positives to take away from that game. At least the offense showed that it's not completely incompetent like the first two games.
